Some help innstalling hpb 4.0
 

I have some troubles innstalling this bot, infact, I have alot of them.
First off I do understand that I need to have metamod installed in order to install this bot. So, first off I went off and got metamod. Problem was when I was trying to load the game with it it just crashed at loadup.

Sooo I got myself a newer version, this time it worked, but the game crashes when I try to input any of the metamod commands. So I try installing the bot. (seeing as innstalling the bot seems next to impossible unless you have everything in the right location i'm going to asume I don't have to tell you where I put everything). Thing is, when I load up the game, there is no bot!.
The dll files are where they should be, (the bot dll file is in the dlls folder and the plugin.ini file is initialized to load it up, so why isn't it working?)

Is it for Steam or not ? The procedure is a bit different.

It is, offcourse, steam. the WON networks arent even up anymore so, why would I want bots for non-steam? hehe.

well, just for that very reason that the WON networks are down, hmm ? :)

Anyway, install metamod first. Let's say you wish to install the bot for Opposing Force. The mod's folder is "gearbox". So in C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\your@email.com\opposing force\gearbox you create a folder called "addons". Then in this folder you create another subfolder called "metamod". And inside this one you create yet another subfolder called "dlls". And you put the metamod.dll in it.

Now in the Steam games list, right-click on the Opposing Force icon and select properties. Then in the game properties window click on the "Launch Options" button and enter exactly this text :
-dll addons/metamod/dlls/metamod.dll

Now metamod is installed. If you run a game and fire up the console, you can type "meta list" and metamod will report that no plugins are running yet (which is normal since the bot is not installed yet).

Now you extract the bot archive to C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\your@email.com\opposing force
Then in the newly created "HPB_bot" directory browse to the "gearbox" subfolder and run the install.bat script. That's all. The script will create an entry in metamod's plugins.ini file for the bot (or create the plugins.ini file if it doesn't exist yet).

You should then be able to see the bot plugin running when you type "meta list" in the console. It means that the bot is installed.

Ok thanks for the help I got it working. Thing was I had installed it right but my version of metamod was too old, so the game just crashed. Had problems finding the newest version since metamod.org is down but I found it through filemirrors, w00t w00t @ filemirrors. Thanks for the help though.

Hello!

I'm not very good computer person, but I wish to install the hpb 4.0 mod, and I read that I need the metaplugin.ini file. I downloaded this, but what do I do with it? What do you mean by Stream?

Any help would be much appreciated.
