Howdy!

Hey everybody. I found an old Bookmarks file and saw this website in it and thought I'd drop by and say "Hello".

I'm surprised I still remembered my password. :)

How are things going in the BotsUnited world? Any interesting bots being developed lately? Are any of the "old timers" from back in the HL1 days still around?

Oh well, I guess I'll go back into my hibernation chamber and check back in again in 5 or 10 years. :D

well there isn't much activity here but RCBot for TF2 and POD-Bot mm are still active I think, and there are also some guys making WPs for Fritzbot (although the bot itself is not being updated) :)

Hiya :)

Hello Creator of the HPB Bot and many other great Things ;)

How are you?

And another Question: Do you still work for Gearbox? I like Borderlands ;)

Btw. If it comes to Half-Life 1 related Bots, there is one Bot still in Development. It's the Foxbot for Team Fortress Classic. Created by Red Fox? and Dr. Evil, Zybby is now updating the Bots with new Features. He's doing some fine Work. If you are interested in the Bot, here's a Link to the Forums -> http://www.omni-bot.de/e107/e107_plu...ewforum.php?28

Hahaha, this looks like just the right thread for me - I also felt a pang of nostalgia recently, and I was both surprised and pleased to see that you, KWo, are still doing a helluva job with PODBot mm! :)

No more CS for me, I've moved to other stuff quite a while ago... but the course of "2 hours meddling with custom content, 10 minutes of gameplay" somehow has stuck to me. :innocent:

I must say that my active time around here has been one of my most enjoyable online experiences so far... that time with our one and only crazy Frenchman Pierre-Marie Baty, and my waypointing companions SoUlFaThEr and (later) biohazerd87...

Yes, I'm still working at Gearbox (going on 8 years now).

I'm glad you like Borderlands. I think many people here were surprised at how well it has done. We weren't sure if many people would like it.

I'm currently working on the Aliens: Colonial Marines game. I haven't done much AI stuff since the Brothers in Arms games (where I and one other guy did much of the AI code for it). I'm doing just about everything else now (weapon code, animation code, audio code, level editor coding, rendering stuff, physics stuff, networking stuff, etc.).

I wasn't sure if any of the "old timers" were still posting here or not. I guess the Half-Life community has pretty much moved on to TF2 and Left 4 Dead. I saw something a while back about a Valve bot going to be released for TF2 (based on the bot from Counter-Strike and Left 4 Dead) but I never saw whether anything was released or not.

Anyway, I hope everyone here is still experimenting with bot coding and having fun.

I'll try to check back from time to time. :)

Thank you for the Informations :)

A Beta Version of Valves Official Team Fortress II Bot was released some while ago. Mike Booth wrote, that they are using Team Fortress 2 as a Sandbox for AI related Stuff. Not all TFII Classes are supported yet, but it's fun to play with them.

Good Luck and Fun with the Aliens Game, i will try it, as soon as it is out :]

Hello! Old timer here too. Had been running HBP bot on my HL server, since way back when (recently moved on to JKBotti).
