An idea i had..

ok, was lying in bed, wondering what would make this game 'different' from every FPS thats already out there.. And i came up with this:

How this will work will depend on how we play this (Round based vs. Continuous flow), but...

I was thinking, that if something like a quarter to an eighth of all the players are dead, the game selects some players randomly as 'rebels', they spawn at an objective which isnt currently occupied, with the soul intent to kill anyone they can.

Obviously, this wont happen very often, their equiptment will be very crude, and they would be easier to kill than standard players, and maybe when they spawn, all the players have a radio message that says something like..

"British intelegance has spotted a band of rebels in sector E3", obviously, E3 would be grid co-ordinates, and British would be replaced with the relevant people.

Post opinions and responces below. :p

yea, rebels will be like an additional team, with no 'fixed' players, they are just selected at random, and are a small proportion of the other teams.

Maybe even give 2 points for killing someone whos not on your 'standard' team, so that people dont use it to assist their teammates too much :p

Seems to me the rebels would help the team they where originaly on.
Need more rules to define rebel force.

Why not make them respawn as civilians ?

I like this version of the idea. If they spawn as civilians, then they can act as spies for the team they where originally on, or act as suicide bombers or whatever you can think of. As a team member you won't be able to tell what team a civilin is on, except by watching their actions and gaining trust in them as belonging to your side.

Now I'm wondering if we should allow civilians to be captured and tortured? (j/k) :D

i like the civ idea, there should be AI civilians, and real people, the real people, have things like radios so they can report things such as troop positions, if someone kills an 'enemy' civilian, they get 2 points, else all the civs pull out guns and start shooting the dude..

The obvious way to spot bad guys would be with bombs and such, if they have a large bomb strapped to em, then shoot em.. if you see them talking into a radio (which they should try to conceal) shoot em too.. give em all pistols too, just in case ;)

obviously you wont know if a civ is on your team or not.. you just gotta be careful, if you get a radio message from someone who is giving radio messages, then.. DONt SHOOT HIM! :p
