i haven't seen anything really interesting since like maybe when cs:s got bots.

I can't speak for anyone here, but I've seen many games stagnate in the custom AI area whenever a default bot of any worth was released for it. :(

Quake III, UT, CS:CZ, etc. None of them really saw much in the way of third party bots just because most people just use the ones in the game without bothering to try others.

reckon if this is so then why not all of us [bot coders,users, bug finders..etc]

start making united bot for multimod compatibliity?

i reckon puttin all the best bits of bots together

that way at least we have one bot that would be worth whille maybe possbily agaisnt the officals?.

btw how far have you guys got into being able to make bots in hl2?
last i heard was spawning
can the move yet?

the hl2 bots spawn, move and shoot, but we haven't succeeded so far in making them switch weapons and their domain knowledge is still very limited.

What we lack all right now is time.

As matter of fact i just started new ShrikeBot 3.0 development.
Going to add "The Trenches" mod support.
And i'll be making it more or less mod independant.

So here we go, fasten your seat belts. :D

Well here comes the "well bot coders have regular lives and they code bots in their spare time and sometimes life gets in the way" statement, which not being a bot coder myself, it's the truth. I'm sure bot coders get hung up with regular life and/or nagging bugs that they must work out so it takes awhile to release updates.

I mean sure i want Maleficus to release his Fritzbot with waypointing support and the FG42 Paratroop Rifle ASAP. But you just gotta be patient. I'll just keep nagging until he does though :D (well the FG42 anyway, waypointing supprt is a given, so i'm not to worried about that, and i'll offer suggestions if he needs any or report bugs or whatever)

Thats very true as well. I was joking about that with someone the other day: if I got paid to work on Fritz and worked on him all the time, I would have it done by now, and well on the way to supporting other games.

So, start sending in those checks guys!! :D :P

motivation is a big factor.
I don't t hink we need dedication, since we are all dedicated when we ar emotivated... ;)

so, yeah, bring in some checks, and look how the motivation raises! :D
