Arrests made in HL2 code theft.

Arrests made in HL2 code theft.

There is an article in the Austin paper today that says:
"Arrests have been made in several countries..."

Thou shalt not steal!
It is a good rule to live by.

Not only does it displease God, it can get you BUSTED!

Yeah, I suspected that already... Valve was distilling infos about imminent arrests.

I just hope they caught the right guys... 9_9

Another reason not to steal is that government does'nt like the competition.

He's complaining about taxes being too high, the government taking money away from him.

Not that stealing is alright...but why couldn't Valve just keep the network safe? :-(. I felt bad when it was stolen, but I must say...it's the first time I've ever heard of a game's source code being stolen.

I bet they have the wrong guys too. They probably just busted some careless fools who were trading the code over the net.

Keep us posted if there's more news.

Hmm no, actually game source code leaks have become a very common thing since the Internet has been popularized. Quite a few number of games have had their sources stolen this way. Notably I believe Descent III and one of the GTA (can't remember which one) were in the lot. Don't take my word for it because I have nothing (but my leaked memory :D) to back this up, but I'm sure a quick search would give you the names of the titles that have been leaked publicly in the past.
