Now that's a silly action from Mr.Red Cross
Actually the game industry doesn't misuse the red cross emblem !
It only uses it to refer to what it's in reality refering to .....which's MEDIC!!! :)

and despite the fact that there have been much more serious breaches of copyrights than this and which no one did care about!

In this essence one must tell those guys from the red cross to Chill , yes LOL

Re: Medic??

its not about miss use of the game industri.. its about making the redcross seem to be a public cross.. to let people use it however and whenever. which isnt right.

also.. any company logo cant be used.. like you cant use mcdonalds logo on your website without permission.

Re: Medic??

all the game industry needs to do would be to change it to a lighter red or maroon. situation resolved.
idiotic red cross.

I don't think they have a case. It would be best for them to not take this to court, as they could lose the symbol. The thing is used so much that how could they still claim ownership?

If he thinks it conflicts with the Red Cross, does that mean the military is next?

Again I think the Red Cross shouldn't make all this noise about the issue!
because they are neither a commercial nor a governmental organization!

The only reason why the armies in the world should change their medic symbol is because
that the basic principle of the Military is to Make War which obviously contradicts that of the Red Cross!:)
or maybe the Military will change it to neon green For camouflage purposes , LOL

Honestly speaking I do think differently here...
I think the Military should be the last who's allowed to use The Red Cross Emblen , because the Military Medic is ONLY concerned with giving medic to its own soldiers!
while the international Red Cross organization deals with giving first aid to everyone , despite being a combatant in a conflict or civilian standing by , so the military medic doesn't deserve to carry this symbol because it's a rather selfish medic....

but on the other hand , The Red Cross emblem fits perfectly harmonic in games like Unreal , Half-life etc....because in those action games it represents health , which is accessible to every player , despite the team he has joined....

....

not true. During world war two (with the exception of the eastern front) if any soldier (british, german, american, etc.) waved a red cross on a flag the battle would stop and both sides would treat the injured. There was a case in italy where british troops were attacking a german position and when they stopped to treat the injured both sides would help each other soldiers untill the enemy came to pick them up. I forgot the name of the battle, but they were interviewing german and british soldier and both of them confirmed it.

Today in Iraq, and Afghanastan US medics will treat injured terrorists, then improsonate them..LOL.
