Boters MIA

Where did they go? What's keeping them busy now?

If you were an old member of BU but no longer come around a lot for some reason, and eventually took a stroll back, feel free to share something about yourself here :)

Re: Boters MIA

I'll report myself first :)

As for my (hobbyist) projects after YaPB, well some of my works are fairly "localized" and may not interest most of the people here, such as SDLHana (a japanese card game) and SDLPAL (a cross-platform reimplemention of a classic DOS Chinese-language RPG).

Currently the project I work on the most is PCSX-Reloaded, which is a playstation emulator based on the long-dead PCSX and puts emphasis on ease-to-use under GNU/Linux systems :)

I have yet to find another job after leaving the previous place this summer, so I have plenty of spare time these days :) this may change after I find another job though :(

Re: Boters MIA

Three active hobby projects at this point, though internship is sucking up a lot of free time :)

First project is Nixstaller, which is an attempt to make neat installers to *nix (currently OpenBSD, NetBSD, FreeBSD, Linux and Solaris).

Second project would be ESF bots. I returned to doing that after some years.

And third is the most recent: Asuro robots :) It's basically bringing AI more to the 'real world'.

Re: Boters MIA

I don't have any king of hobby project currently... I'm very busy with my job as programmer. The bad thing is that I work alone on a big project and the bosses are everyday askers of "what things did you completed/coded today" and because money is things that you hardly can get here I'm overworking myself big time in order to get more...

I really want to code something for me but in my current situation I simply don't have power to do that. Anyway I'm checking this forum and some others every day before to get sleeping, so I'm still not really off. :)

Are you finished with YaPB Whistler? I mean as far as you working on it anymore? YaPB is an amazing project I don't think many people see this, or maybe I just like the project so much :>. I just wish I was able to use YaPB for my server. Since YaPB doesn't have a quota match feature or any other type of features that could support a human vs bot atmosphere I am unable to use it.

I think everyone's input on this project has been great so far, I hope it doesn't get discontinued :<

well actually I rarely play HL/CS these years, neither do I still have much interest in CS :(

still though, it seems jeefo was active 2-3 months ago but went inactive again after that, but who knows that he won't come back (not complaining about this as real life is always the most important thing though) :) also, POD-Bot mm is still active afaik.

just came across this one: :)
(link removed, gpl violation & other license violating stuff distrubuted there)

unfortunate for me, the chess game requires donation/payment and I don't have a credit card usable outside my country, and the other 2 things are not downloadable (I remember he posted the wolf3d thing here but the file @ racc.bots-united.com is removed for long) :( btw I don't think he still releases these stuff under BSD License :sweatdrop:

Re: Boters MIA

I wish he would stop by  the chess game looks great, he's been making a lot of updates on the forums over there, I think he has only one tester for it though.
