Problem with playing online

So for first time I try to play online CS 1.6 with my friend. So he make the server and give me the IP but when I try to connect it give me LAN servers are restricted for local clients Class C. :( I can play without problems in to the internet servers from the internet servers list in Steam but I can't play with the my friend. What I must do ?

Your friend must be behind a router and the address he's giving you must be his LOCAL address, not his internet one (I bet the address he's giving you is in the form 192.168.x.y). He must give you his router's external address and forward the CS game ports from his router to the server machine.

How I can find his real IP? Because he don't know nothing.

EDIT: The problem was because of sv_lan that was 1. :)
