Cave Story
http://agtp.romhack.net/images/doukutsu/thumb/7.png Free platformer game, plays kind of like Castlevania. Its quite big, and loads of fun. Oddly enough it causes physical memory dump crashes ever since I installed XP SP1 a few days ago. Maybe its time for SP2. |

a quake-based FPS game Pros: - it's completely free software, sources to all the maps are available and all the game contents and engine code are under GPL - Game media files are in Quake3 format, the mod code is QuakeC - With bots - Can be run under GNU/Linux, MacOS and Windows Cons: - Runs too slow on my computer :( - QuakeC is still too limited |

SDL binary seems to run faster than the glx. However...the game couldn't load any textures on freebsd :( Maybe something todo with the linux emulation. |
Re: Little advertising
perhaps the AGP aperture is not set ?
Don't know if it's the same in FreeBSD but in OpenBSD the AGP aperture is limited by default as part of the security policy. Users wanting to get the most of their AGP card can set machdep.allowaperture=1 in the kernel configuration (no need to recompile, you can configure the BSD kernel on the fly). |
