Hello!

Yes, 2.55b is a fail. Buggy, laggy, crashing here and there. So i decided to release updated version for YaPB. Let's say 2.6 :)

Here's the current changelog:

Code:

Cleaned up the source code a bit, removing all "engine-independent" stuff.
Fixed bot booting on newest releases of CS 1.6 and Czero.
Added back support for CS beta 7.0 to 1.5.
Fixed much of crash bugs that was available in previous releases.
Fixed building and using bot under Linux HLDS.
Added support for Linux and OSX listenservers (both metamod & standalone).
Bot can now be unloaded via 'meta unload' at anytime. (thx immortal_blg).
Fixed bot's won't do their goals (planting bomb/rescue hostages).
Improved a little bit shield use. (borrowed code from this forum).
Fixed cycling chatter messages.
Fixed reliable channel overflow for clients on hlds with bots.
Fixed button usage. (thx immortal_blg).
Fixed empty weapons switching bug and reload too fast.
Fixed CT's bots won't to complete bomb defuse task.
Improved a little bot's grenade usage.
Fixed tkpunish. Bot's will not punish other bots now.
Fixed too shaky bot aiming, when shooting at enemies.
Maybe something more...

If anybody alive here now, feel free to post requests. Current changes will be posted next week.

Code:

Fixed bot's escapes from bomb too early.
Fixed bot's stuck in each other (thx immortal_blg).
Added waypoint autodownload from db with 6900 waypoints (controlled via yb_waypoint_autodl_enable cvar).
Fixed multiple memory leaks.
Bot's now always use A* pathfinder.

Attached the latest dll. Full release will come by the end of this week.

Never tried Github before, there will be (maybe) some mistakes in usage of git. Don't bother.

Linux Playtest Server: 91.211.118.128:27021 @ 1000fps, seems to new msec calc from jkbotti solved bot freezing when running 1000fs servers

well it was attempt to make podbot cross-engine, i haven't time to complete it, so i reverted to 2.51 version to make final release. :)

I'm glad to see that someone alive here too :)

Nice, keep up a good work. Btw, your site is down - http://yapb.jeefo.net/, can you upload all files again? And on 2.55 beta iirc there was issue with repeating names of bots (16 bots).

1) Can you look at cs_havana or cs_backalley? It seems CT are camping near the spawn (for some time). CT likes to camp on hostage maps? 2) Another issue from 2.55 is that bots are stealing my hostages 3) Bots walk into windows with hostages (why?). 4) Bots on cs_assault (and on other maps?) don't care about hostages that much. 5) On cs_assault CT often storm front entrance and die a lot there, is not they should go thru other ways more often? 6) Sometimes bot tries to sit on a place where other bot is sitting.

This bot camping problem (on at least hostage maps) is severe, both CT and T very often camp in wrong places (often on spawn). Very pronounced problem on cs_backalley. They just don't want to fight :/

EDIT: Ok. I've tested cs_backalley and cs_havana, CT bots leave the spawn much faster now. Btw there is a problem with a tube on cs_backalley, bots often come in numbers and stuck there because some bot just blocks the way sitting in the tube, or they all jump in a tube, trying to unblock, after some time they usually unblock but it is funny to watch and takes time.

ALso, just now: alt-tabing back to CS with YAPB at cs_assault (as spec) and it freezes after few sec after the hostage use (takes 1.5GB of RAM and 100% of 1 core), dies after that.

I think problem persists. If few CTs want to camp at bombsite at spawn = not a problem, but why they don't choose their place (box, corner, whatever) and stop walking/jumping around near boxes/on boxes/between boxes all the time and after that leaving the damn thing/place or be killed when jumping to those boxes. :/

Let me see:
CT bot camping at spawn: fixed on cs_havana, somewhat crappy on cs_backalley, reintroduced differenly on de_dust after your last change (they freeze at spawn and just stand).
Crash near hostages/Alt-Tab: not observed yet.
CT box problem at de_dust: problem persist.

Ladder climbing while shooting: probably still problematic.

the box problem and bomb defuse on boxes is a more waypoint issue, than the bot one, i have added check, so if bot's fails to reach waypoint two times in a row, bot will find new goal for himself.

I've looked at it today for a hour on different maps, what I see:
+ My earliest problem with CT bot camping/slow start at cs_backalley and cs_havana is fixed imho.
+ About bot defusing on box on de_dust, interesting is that when on box already, bot can't defuse bomb on it, just jumping above it.
+ CT bot with hostages walks thru window and loosing them (for example from second floor window on cs_mansion).
+ Two bots take knifes and walk in circles around each other endlessly.
+ Tube at cs_assault - bot goes in, I'm not sure it ever leaves it, seems ladder problem for both T/Ct.
+ Tube traffic jam at cs_backalley and possibly other maps.
+ Bot on bot camping (add check here too?).
+ Sometimes (rarely) bot throw frag granades away 180 deg from the enemy (?) not sure o_0 but I caught it few times with frag/flash on cs_assault.
+ Very rarely bot is walking while looking backwards for 5 seconds, this is some kind of tactic? Tunnel in de_dust.
