Podbot on Linux
Well, I'm somewhat new to Linux and running servers, please just hear me out :P
I'm trying to install podbots/csdm/amxx on a dedicated server, but the podbot file will not load. I've read and followed everything in this thread (http://forums.bots-united.com/showthread.php?t=4494) down to the dot. I cannot get podbots to load. Is there anything special I need to do to get the legacy software thinger to actually work? Like I said, I'm somewhat new to this. And on a side note, my server FPS won't go past 333, yet I have fps_max set to 1000 and sys_ticrate set to 5000. The server is a quad core xeon (4 cores@2.4ghz) with 4GB RAM. Any and all help will be appreciated. Thank you guys for the great mods! |
Re: Podbot on Linux
What is Your gcc version? About crazy FPS - You need to be aware HL1 supports really fps_max 100. If You can run the server over it, more than likely You are getting some side-effects (like higher CPU usage without apparently increased performance). What is Your libstdc++ version (5 or 6)? Don't ask me how to check those (I don't have linux), but from that topic You have invoked the link to, I know that is very important info.

Re: Podbot on Linux
No I didn't meant meta list, when you start the server from the linux console, it will print some stuff, and probably what is the problem with podbot_mm, I don't know why KWo still is talking about libstdc++, I showed him a way to static link podbot_mm with cygwin so you will not need by this library. :)

Re: Podbot on Linux
Ok, show us the directory tree, the plugins.ini file and a log from the server, here's how you can make it - when starting your server via hlds_run just add in the end if the line this "> srvlog.log" without the quotes ofcource and then attach srvlog.log file here. :)

Try to download the binaries from here and replace the existing one in Your podbot folder by that one from that link (also use those new cfgs). The binaries I mean podbot_mm_i386.so file in Your (linux) case. |
