Re: Work In progress (WIP) #8.5

memory bug seems to be fixed

you need todo meta refresh (or at least in my case) because as soon as i added 2 bots before doing it, realbot_mm crashed, after the refresh the bug never appears again, im guessing its a bug in metamod that does that.

and they move on round start again, yey.

just csdm till all the maps are waypointed again, hehe

Realbots Is Real Nice..

for the next version the bots shouldnt bump into each other and do those super duper hops, that kinda gets annoying :D and somtimes bots dont always learn when they stuck (thats only somtimes)... maybe the bots should move more back or somthing.. also fix that bug were they run backwards toward you.. well other than that good job. oh yea i would like them to hear the bullets also=)

is it me or the bots always take the same route..

Re: Work In progress (WIP) #8.5

I got word from Greg (aka Berked, a trusted linux bug finder ;) ) that there was anothe rbug in the experience saving code, i am glad he pointed it out because i never saw why it was a bug... only after reading TWICE the code , lol. Anyway, thats fixed for the next release. Since bugs are almost all squised i will move on to new features.

Re: Work In progress (WIP) #8.5

hmm.... I don't really get it.
On my dedicated server the bots commit suicide at the start of the round.... they don't move, don't buy, don't speak... just a nice clean suicide ;)

Maybe it has something to do with the steam updates today?

Anybody else seen this?

Re: Work In progress (WIP) #8.5

i think stefan needs to set each bot to say cl_fakeclient 1, so that it states that its a bot

or something along those lines

FYI

After upgrading to WIP 8.5 the HLDS crashes 1-2 times a day.
HLDS run on a win2003 Server, and this event message appears in application log

Faulting application hlds.exe, version 4.1.1.1, faulting module realbot_mm.dll, version 0.0.0.0, fault address 0x0001abc1.

Re: Work In progress (WIP) #8.5

hi all!

@DreamLord34
are you certain, it's the steam version?

i can confirm that the WIP #8.5 produces random crashes on a W2K Pro
system with steam version 1.1.2.3, hlds.exe v4.1.1.1 and only
realbot (on adminmod 1.17) running.
if useful, i'll post the dr. watson report.

the predecessor was stable (i'd tested it with and without bots over several
hours)

i've also noticed that some of the bots stay real stupid (cs_assault: bots on
upper gangway won't get down, others get stuck on corners and stuff)

however, i don't want to discredit Stefan's work!
despite these issues IT's GREAT !!
keep hackin'.

Best Bytes®,
Harry

Re: Work In progress (WIP) #8.5

The mass suicide never happened before the febuary 9th steam update, all was fine till then. After the update, when a new round starts, nothing but suicide. Plus, since the update, I'm not the only one that this happend to.

Re: Work In progress (WIP) #8.5

I have got word from Greg that there are a few other bugs on memory side, causing SEGV faults. I will fix them.

The mass suicide bug is being worked on, i know what is wrong. I don't know yet how to fix it :(

Re: Work In progress (WIP) #8.5

For the moment, I have replaced the #8.5 with the #8MM. I have deleted all RBN RBX files and started again from scratch. So far, the HLDS has been running for 19 hours or so. The reason for the switch backwards was that the HLDS was closing every 8 hours or so. I have re-enabled error reporting to see if that can tell me where the fault lies but as the only thing that was changed was the RB MM. The control group I set up has performed well (killed a lot of the clients lol) even down to learning the matrix mod which had the bots really confused before! The only problem I have now is that the old WIP gives me that SZ_Getspace error which I had attributed to Statsme (2.7.1) but after shutting down statsme for 4 hours it was still there.

Can't wait for the next release as RB just gets better and better.

Keep up the great work Stefan!

Re: Work In progress (WIP) #8.5

Try the latest relaese of statsme.

Gismo 16-02-2004 23:04

Re: Work In progress (WIP) #8.5

Think you missed the point there - it was not Statsme that caused the problem (Statsme was off when it shutdown again - HLDS had caused etc), but the WIP8.5. The latest version of statsme is not fully compatable with CS1.5 at the moment anyway. I know this as I installed it without RTFM! lol. I reinstalled 2.7.1 from the backups same as I reinstalled the WIP8 which has been running for around 24 hours now. The memory leak problem is still present ((partially)fixed in 8.5)but I am using FreeRAM from Bysoft to free the memory blockage. It also seems that other people are having similar problems the their HLDS crashing - possibly from the other memory problems Stefan has discussed with a de-bug post. I just thought that Stefan would like to know thats all.

And if I wanted to talk about Statsme I'd just go to their forums! :D
