Yeah, I know, the forums are not 'officially' open yet but I couldn't resist posting something here :D

as an excuse I'll say that I've just released the version 2.0 of my bleeding plugin for metamod, that gives extra blood FX on any HL MOD! And especially with this version 2.0 a special headshot effect that r0x0rs, try and see, you can't miss it ;)

*edit* now comes with a Linux library AND a Windows DLL !!

and there's also another one which adds a nice "nextmap" server command to any HL MOD too, this one can load immediately a new map, the one that is just after the position of the current map in the mapcycle.txt file... handy when you're bored with a map while playing MODs that don't support this command, such as The Specialists...

It would be cool if you could add 'camera effects' so when you get killed you can see yourself getting killed, like in CS but in slow motion or something (Max Pain rulez) :D

it's my favourite MOD atm, but since it has already cool cam effects and it's all that I want I'm a bit lazy and I think I won't do that...YET :D

pitty! do you know if it is possible even to change the gfx with this? so you see things 'slow motion' (blur etc)...

you did not play Max Payne 2 did ya? :) At the very first you see him dizzy and the screen has a sort of 'blur'. Like when you have a headacke, or you move your head way to fast you see the images overlap each other.. that kind of effect.

If that could be done in HL , it would be super! :D

meh, I played max payne 1... and yes there are a few cool effects, although most of them are also implemented in The Specialists...
but unfortunately it's not possible to make a blur effect in HL... unless it's a GL hack, that is, and I don't know a shit about OpenGL. Aspirin might be the guy to ask to, instead :)

I tried bleeding on a Ns Lanserver but only got gray bloodfountains. Realy nice effect, but...
What do I have to do, to get red blood in other mods than CS?

edit: ... and since Realbot_mm the endround_mm does not work anymore in CS.

Ha, looks like the guys at Natural Selection don't use the standard HL color palette :)

I believe you're left to recompile the plugin and try different color numbers until you find the right one for your mod...

The mods I tried it with are:

Azure Sheep
Counter-Strike
Deathmatch Classic
Half-Life deathmatch
Opposing Force
Team Fortress Classic
The Specialists
Rocket Crowbar

mmmmh, I have no Idea of compiling, I'm just a user of plugins, tho only thing i try, is how to get them to work together, sorry, can't do anything.

hmmm, got a problem with the pluging i'm getting the following meggage:

Bleeding: meta-interface version mismatch (metamod: 5:10, Bleeding: 5:9)

wrong metaversion or what?

The message started with the new Metamod version, every plugin that had been compiled for metamod-1.16.2 will bring that error. No problem in most cases.
pls report if you found updated plugins

When a new metamod version will be out (hopefully with the Steam/No-Steam patches) I will recompile all my plugins, fix those which don't work anymore, and release them all again.
It's just that I don't want to do this every single day :)

the plugin's headshot part doesn't seem to work on my cs1.5 listen server..
is it only for 1.6 or dedicated or sumthing like that?

It does for me...

The effect is that sometimes when you headshot someone in a particular way, "cleanly" enough, you see a big steam of blood and brain jelly flow out of the guy's head, as if he had his head chopped off. It does not work all the time for all headshots, though. Try longer and try doing clean headshots (if one can call that that way ;))

yea i've seen it work on some 1.6 servers but i've been trying for quite a while now playing with a game full of pod bots with 100 skill and getting a bunch of headshots but haven't seen any stream of blood yet.

edit: it seems to just show the regular headshots and in the source code it says v1.4 and not v2.0

I'm sure you've got an outdated version of the plugin. Try redownloading it from my site.

Else what is the status of the "blood_nobrain" CVAR ? If it is set to 1, the blood/brain streams won't appear.

I just redownloaded it and the source code still said v1.4 and I set that to 0 but it doesn't seem to be working.
edit: the source that you included with the download doesn't seem to have that cvar

You were right, the binary on my site was not the right one. I was pretty sure to have downloaded it since other people have grabbed it and it worked and I am solidly certain NOT to have reuploaded an older version !!!

I have put the right binary this time. Try redownloading it.

Isn't it english?
if it was french i probably wouldn't have been able to use it..
and its not that hard to use just list it in the plugin.ini file in your metamod folder.

When I clicked on his download link & downloaded & opened it, it was french.
Where does the dll go? If it's supposed to be in the cstrike/dlls folder, it ain't working cause I tried that. Failed to load error is what I get.

Some plugins usually run from the mod's dll folder & then I added the win32 dlls/bleeding_mm.dll line to the plugins.ini file but it doesn't work.

try backslashs and also make sure the dll is in that folder

Please help tried installing this plugin with no success, im a bit of a noob when it comes to this kind of thing. Have put the dll in the metamod folder but not quite sure what line to add to the plugins.ini file. Please help my server is a linux.

I have compiled a Linux version of the plugin. It's available here :

Take the .so file and put it into a subfolder of your MOD folder, that you will create, for example :

/hlserver/tfc/addons/metamod/bleeding_plugin

(provided your HL server is installed in /hlserver and your MOD is TFC, else change the names)
and put it there
Then open the plugins.ini file that is located at /hlserver/tfc/addons/metamod/plugins.ini, and add a line that says:

linux addons/metamod/bleeding_plugin/bleeding_mm_i386.so

I don't remember if it's the exact name of the .so file, if it's not, change it accordingly.
