when i make a dedicted server its always not responding and my friends cant join the server cause it always says server not respondin!! y??!/ help plz ???:( :'( ???:( :'(

ok ok..here...when i make a new game or a dedicted server i give the ip 2 my friends. when they try 2 join the game they cant because it says server not responding. enought detail? so y is this? plz help!!???:( ???:(

e.g.:
-what OS
-what bot
-what version
-what other DLL's are loaded into hlds
-what network connection does the (to be) server have
-what happens to network traffic between client and server which is uncommon (router, personal firewall and alike)

ok so heres the thing i make a new game just a new game and my friends should be able 2 join it from my friends list rite?!? so when they click join game it always says server not responding!! i shutdown my firewall and i dont hav any other things 2 block the internet activites!! so wats happenin here?!?

I assume you want to make a lan with such an ip...
If you want to use the Internet, you have to get your real ip, not a local one.
Open a dos command window, and type: ipconfig.

Whenever you create a game on LAN you should check your LAN tab to find your game. I am not sure if the friends list keeps LAN games too. Probably only on internet connections.

You are probably giving the wrong IP if it begins with 192.168.

How do you access the net? modem? cable?

Can they see your server on the server list?

make a folder named maps in your dedicated server cstrike directory and make a map cycle in steam on the main tab

FYI
Friends is dumb (ok thats not new), it shows lan games, and ppl will see you ingame, even in the server browser your lan games do showe up to your friens.

wa?i added maps in the cstrike folder in dedicated server folder and in the cstrike folder there was mapcycle so i edit it by puttin the names of the new maps i added the map files in the map folder but it doesnt work!?!? the new maps aint in the selection thingamchigg???? also need help installin the amx mod or if u know of a program that installs it for u plz tell me thx!!
