Podbot vR2B46d, MM 1.19-p28 and AMXX 1.71
Hi,
I am running PodBot in the following environment Podbot vR2B46d, MM 1.19-p28 and AMXX 1.71 I am using the amd64.so on an Italy only server. I have currently the problem that the bots are loading but acting very slow. Sometimes it looks more than walking instead of running. Is this a known bug or can someone please sort this out with me? Kind regards CFN|LordSoth |
Re: Podbot vR2B46d, MM 1.19-p28 and AMXX 1.71
Ok beside the thing that the bots are very slow and not running like normal players I found an additional bug.
They begin to shoot a few milliseconds before you turn around a corner which looks like a wallhack to all other players :D Could this behaviour be changed? |

They can hear You very good - it's not wallhack. Take good headphones and You will be able to do the same. |

...and btw. you can send me the binary if you want. I will test it on an AMD64 Dual Opteron machine. Maybe the fact that the bots shoot before you reach a corner has something to do with the lags they cause. I will see... :D |
Re: Podbot vR2B46d, MM 1.19-p28 and AMXX 1.71
That beta for AMD64 linux - take it from here. Read carefully the readme.txt included there and also podbot.cfg. Settings are cvars now and "addbot" command has been replaced by "add" command (but the syntax is the same). All commands needs to be used with "pb" prefix (regardless if in podbot.cfg or if in console).
pb add 100 pb wpmenu pb menu You need to use these cfgs included into that zip file. |

Re: Podbot vR2B46d, MM 1.19-p28 and AMXX 1.71
Ok, I've installed the latest version AMD64 now and it is working.
The Server is not crashing but there are still bugs. First of all the bots are still more walking instead of running. Its looking like a slow motion movie :D This needs to be fixed. Well, I am at home now for the next 2 weeks so I have much time to test things out. Contact me if you want... |
Re: Podbot vR2B46d, MM 1.19-p28 and AMXX 1.71
That slow walking effect appears at every map (also at the first one after server starting) or You can see it after few rounds for example? Are You sure it's not caused by lags on Your server?

The server is an italy only machine and the slow walking can directly be seen after the bots are connecting. I can turn on the bots and give you the ip if you want! |
Re: Podbot vR2B46d, MM 1.19-p28 and AMXX 1.71
Updated Server to MM 1.9 official full release.
No change, Podbot is still running like in slow motion mode :D |
Re: Podbot vR2B46d, MM 1.19-p28 and AMXX 1.71
the bots on map load calculate visibility table but it should end after around 30 seconds (or at leas within first round)
secosn maybe the server has maxspeed set on players, does the slowmovement affect gamers? |
Re: Podbot vR2B46d, MM 1.19-p28 and AMXX 1.71
This does not affect gamers.
I enabled the bots so that you can take a look on your own 195.13.62.38:27400 www.clanforums.com CS 1.6 #1 [RUSH] |
Re: Podbot vR2B46d, MM 1.19-p28 and AMXX 1.71
Disable for test HLGUARD and check if it still happens. If so - disable also for tests AMX X. And let us know what was happened.

Re: Podbot vR2B46d, MM 1.19-p28 and AMXX 1.71
Disabled HLGuard --> no changes
Disabled AMXmodx --> no changes Disabled both --> no changes Bots are still in slow motion mode. I will enable HLGuard and AmxmodX now again. Please connect to the server and take a look yourself. I think after a few second you will see what I am talking about... |
Re: Podbot vR2B46d, MM 1.19-p28 and AMXX 1.71
I did and I saw it...
But I'll ask my other colleagues to tell me about their server's IP to let You see the same bot is working normally on other servers. Another question - when You disabled those plugins - did You restart the server at all or You changed the map only to let load by metamod podbot mm only? Do You have any antivirus software enabled there (at Your server) as Norton Antivirus or anything like that? |

Re: Podbot vR2B46d, MM 1.19-p28 and AMXX 1.71
Try to look here (i don't remember which one contains podbot mm V3beta - after joining write in console "meta list" without quotes to list the plugins are there):
85.214.36.125:27025 -[ sHc ]- sHclachthaus 85.214.36.125:27055 -[ sHc ]- DeathMatchServer 85.214.36.125:27045 -[ sHc ]- chill (standardmaps) It's a linux (suse 9.3 x64) server with 5 gameservers on it. The owner of it didn't report such problem. He was using R2B46d before, too, and no problem with slow motion reported. |
Re: Podbot vR2B46d, MM 1.19-p28 and AMXX 1.71
PodBot for AMX64 is beta KWo or?
I am not the author and not mod here. I was only willed to test things out and report what I see and btw. I did :D On my machine its not working and now I think its on the author and mods to find out why (if they want). After finding out maybe its final and stable then. Would be nice to get another version to play around a little bit more with it. Like I said, next days I have much time :D |
Re: Podbot vR2B46d, MM 1.19-p28 and AMXX 1.71
I would recommend that You install for test another bot completly different than podbot mm (for example JoeBot or Realbot). If this slow motion effect still will happen for You - it will mean it's Your PC problem. If these bots will work fine - it will mean it's podbot mm problem. I was trying this bot on few machines and few beta testers report me it works fine for them. I can't reproduce the effect You have to do something with it. :(
Another thing I may recommend is - reinstall the steam. |
Re: Podbot vR2B46d, MM 1.19-p28 and AMXX 1.71
could you provide a demo?
like start server, join game with bots and record your behavour to show how they move from third and first person perspective |
Re: Podbot vR2B46d, MM 1.19-p28 and AMXX 1.71
Switch off Your pingboost :D

Re: Podbot vR2B46d, MM 1.19-p28 and AMXX 1.71
I've just got the info from another experienced AMD64linux user.
He is recommending: - to run "top", to see cpu load on each cpu and on each kernel on cpu. - turn off other servers, because they clear cache on cpu when sheduler change task very often, linux kernel have options, that allow you to change frequency, its name in kernel: Timer frequency: - 100 HZ (recommended on DS!) - 250 HZ - 1000 HZ and another option: Preemption Model: - No Forced Preemption (Server) - Voluntary Kernel Preemption Another experience - server with 2 AMD64 Opteron processors: For some unknown reason more players than 26 was increasing the CPU usage to maximum. The solution was odd (but effective): run server on different kernel on CPU. Try these hints above and let us know if Your problem is gone. |

Re: Podbot vR2B46d, MM 1.19-p28 and AMXX 1.71
OK - try the latest beta (v3beta9a) - it uses different way of calculation frame's time. Maybe it will help You.

I installed v3beta10a now and the slow motion seems to be gone.
Now the bots are walking like drunken, running in a circle or against walls. Take a look yourself 195.13.62.38:27400 www.clanforums.com CS 1.6 #1 [RUSH] by clanserver4u |
Re: Podbot vR2B46d, MM 1.19-p28 and AMXX 1.71
I was unlucky, because when I was there - on Your server there were playing only 2 bots and 4 people... Didn't see the effect bumping into walls as drunken. I think it could happen for You on some maps You are using incorrect waypoints - for example - de_aztec used with pwf created for de_aztec CS1.5 or something like that. Try to observe it more carefully - if it happens only on certain maps or on each map.

Re: Podbot vR2B46d, MM 1.19-p28 and AMXX 1.71
I am using the Waypoints from the directory.
I am running dust2 and italy only on this server. Do you have better waypoints for me for that? btw. does an amxx mod exist for the menu stuff? |

What I was asking for is if there is a posibility to add this menu as submenu into the standard amxx menu. Currently the menu needs an own setinfo and command. It would be nice if it can be a submenu of amxx using its rights system also. |

Then add to Your amxmodx\configs\custommenuitems.cfg file such line: amx_addmenuitem "POD-Bot Menu" "amx_pbmenu" "hu" "POD-Bot Menu" About bots they look as drunken - if there is some bot-leader calling them by "Follow-me" radio command, they may look a bit as drunken, but only until the leader is in the 256 units range far way of them (and no enemy nearby). Else they follow him (if he is farer away). |
Re: Podbot vR2B46d, MM 1.19-p28 and AMXX 1.71
KWo, did you change the cvars for the .sma of the podbot menu? If not, I can attach my edited file so it will work. ^^

Try this version of amxx_podbotmenu for podbot mm V3. Let me know if it works. If so - I may update the topic for Ultimate Podbot menu. It's compiled for AMX X 1.71.

Re: Podbot vR2B46d, MM 1.19-p28 and AMXX 1.71
It's prolly the same thing I have. I just changed the cvars so ya.
|
Re: Podbot vR2B46d, MM 1.19-p28 and AMXX 1.71
I didn't change any cvar there. I changed "addbot" into "add" in few places only...
