one question, does the bots only load on waypointed maps? coz i saw the server stopped in intermission not loading the next map which is not waypointed. thanx.

The bots will still load on maps that aren't supported ATM. However, they will stand around and let you know that they can't find anything to do.

Silly question, I'm trying to set up a small dedicated server and I've set it up so it loads Fritzbot and my .cfg I've made for it but it doesnot load the campaign cycle I've indicated on the .cfg. For some reason it always loads

"Fritz Africa"
"cmpgn_fritzbot_a"

which has oasis and SW el kef. I'm not sure how to get it to load up the default campaing I want. Agian, I appreciate the help

Yeah, campaigns are kind of a pain. Post a list of the maps you want and the order and I'll see if I can get it working for you

Ok, attached a fritzCampaigns.zip

inside it is a pk3 that you can place in your fritzbot folder. I put your exact campaign in. So you should be able to just start playing your campaign.

Fritzbot came with pre-made campaign files that were inside th fritz0.pk3 file. One of those started with Oasis; the map you wanted to start with, so it was choosing that one first.

I cleared that campaign file and added yours into the pk3.

I'm pretty new to ET in general, and this may not be the best way to do it, but it works. If anyone else has a better way, hopefully they will post about it.

Hey Thanks for the help, I finally got it up and working. It's a small little server and doesn't have the best ping but if anyone would like to check it out. Just click play online and select connect to ip "thekillbox.servegame.com" and you can give it a try.

Thanks agian CrapShoot, I'll probably be bothering you agian in the future. This is quite a bit different than the other bot programs I've used for ET in the past. But I've not seen anything that plays this realistic. I had 3 of my clan mates on this afternoon and they couldn't get over how real they were even down to the spamming at the end of the game. lol

glad to see the fritzbots are up and in action online already. good job and thanks for the bot. btw, is there possible to incorperate the bots in mods like jaymod or etpub etc just like the omnibots ? i want to have killingsprees w/ the bots:gun_bandana::P

No problem, hopefully it worked ok. Probably as you guys get everything ironed out some sort of basic primer on how to set it up as a dedicated server would be helpful. Maybe even a locked one on the forums.

Anyway thanks for all the hard work. It's a lot of fun.

I've added a lot of Shrub/ETPub-ish features already. I can always add more - just request what you'd like to see.

I've never played ETPub, so I don't know how the killing spree works.

well i would love to try out ur server even ill have like a 200 ping (germany)
but first i get dl of 12 kb/s was going to take it, but after 10 minutes it kicked me....
can u maybe give me a browserlink or something cause it wont let me dl the files from ur server...

sorry boosted, it does have http redirect and u should have faster download speed than 12k/sec. it may be the setting in your player profile. go to etmain/ profile/yourname folder, open etconfig.cfg using a notepad, search for "download" and you will find something like seta cl_wwwDownload "1" and etc. make sure everyone of them is set to 1. then try connect again.

alternatively, I give u the site to download the files. just check your pm. :P

You're also welcome to try my little server. Just start ET and play online and select connect to ip and put thekillebox.servegame.com and you'll be connected to it. It does have ftp download just be patient and you 'll be playing soon :)

Made an attempt to use your Fritz ET server just now, but had some problems. The map was "tank." After downloading 20MB of pk3 files, when I joined the game I found the bots were stuck without goals, and my movement controls didn't work. Good sound effects, tho.

Which server did you try and connect to? There are a couple posted in this topic? I checked mine and it was running fine.

I'm assuming it must be one of the other servers as I don't have the map tank on mine.

EDIT 1:
Stymied because it requires four pk3 files that I don't have. Although I have "download files" turned on, it didn't d/l anything. It began with fritzrommel but failed and kicked me out with the list of files that I don't have.

EDIT 2:
Got Rommel.pk3 from the filebase. Tried again. Waited through a 19MB download for Stalingrad and was accepted. I've never played this map before -- very interesting trying to cross the frozen river!!

It'd be nice to have a list of the maps required before connecting so one could get them ahead of time. Thanks for providing a Fritzbot ET server!! :flowers:

DocFrog Botteria is open for visitors!

Yesterday, i decided to start a bot server, found the Fritzbot and gave it a try. So, now the server is up and running, with three maps, Braundorf_b4, Frostbite and ET_Ice. Please download the maps from Filefront or a similar resource. I haven't a dedicated download from the gameserver, downloads from the gameserver is only 10-15KB/sec so i can be a great idea to fetch the maps i advance.

16 slots, 10 for bots, 6 for ppl
Stopwatch mode AB

Thanks for looking into my little problem. Once I got the proper files installed, everything worked fine! I'll be visiting your server again.

And now DocFrog has joined the group with a small server. Will have to try that one out too. Looks like FritzET is taking off, which is good for us all, and a tribute to Mal and his crew for all the hard work that they put into it. :thumbsup:

Dude, the tank map has not been waypointed yet thats why u saw all bots stucked. the default server campaign is fritz complete where every map is supported by fritz. that tank map was on coz someone voted it on..just vote back to play any fritz campaign before I completely disable the map vote.

I only have Unix gameservers (rented 4).

When Fritzbot comes with a unix version i will put it on a server. :)

question, can the bots be automatic removed when a human player joins? or is this goinig to be a feature in the future release? i thought u can do that with omnibots so when server is full, player can still join and take a bot 's slot instead of having to wait. :P

Just updated my server and added Townsquare (btw great job the Bindlestiff) and also added the updated Oasis wp by Crapshoot. Once agian thanks to everyone for all the hard work. Looking forward to future advances in the game.

Well now it looks like my one to two hours has changed to 1 to 2 weeks as the motherboard failed and will be replaced. So basically it's pretty much a complete overhaul now. Anyway there are a couple of other good Fritzbot servers out there running so check them out and we'll be back up asap.

Hi there, I am FUNNYPhReaK. I run 3 servers for ET... A pro, J-mod and soon to be Fritz. I am running the Omni mod right now. I will be testing today and hopefully will have the server up and running by late this afternoon or tonight.

OMG my server is on the FRITZ!!!!!

Seriously it is up and runnin. No XP save or pub/J-mod working yet. Trying some things out. I would love to hear some advice on these. Love to see XP save and my pub or j-mod workin. Any ideas?

Just incase anyone wanted to try out Fritzbot .70 online. My server )The Kill Box( is up and running with all 22 maps except Rocket Arena as I felt that was a little to small with this many bots. Anyway the Ip is thekillbox.servegame.com

The maps and files are FTP download so the wait should be pretty short. This is a USA server so the ping will be a bit high for overseas. Welcome all.
