Right you are, vb3.5.2 it is. Style will be back to normal when pierre / I get around to it. No urgency in there.

Re: Forum Update

i actually like this style pretty much. It still has BU colors and looks BU-ish. Only with a few icons here and there. Why change? ;)

Nova 25-12-2005 17:46

Re: Forum Update

Bugger it, the forum style was fucked up, templates were screwed, lets discuss this one ? (I have backup of old on, so dont go steaming pierre ..., it was more work getting it fixed than this) ...

So, opinions ?

snazzy. so that's what all the connection issues were this weekend! Merry Christmas guys.

Re: Forum Update

wow, this new one is even better. Only the top links are screwed a bit. But apart from that this is great.

Ow, and i would love to see the bu smilies again ;) :D

Nova 25-12-2005 19:27

Re: Forum Update

yes, we still have to adapt it, and change the rest of the site accordingly. And the council has to accept it, i just set it temporarily for now, to test reactions and because the other template was MASSIVELY screwed by the update.

Re: Forum Update

Good job, Sebastian. :)
Only these smileys - get them back to old ones. :)

And next time, when You will going to update the server - just write an info before - to prevent some questions directed to other admins (Onno, Pierre) - if they know what was happened, when the server is down... :D

[EDIT]
The server's time seems to be screwed up. I was writing this post about 22:50 (my time zone - set uped in CP as GMT+1), but the forum says it was posted 23:39 - can someone check the time of the server?
[/EDIT]

Re: Forum Update

I really like the new style too. :D Looks really slick. EDIT: saw only one thing that was a bit off: line breaks aren't recognised, I can type paragraphs, but it all shows up as one line of text.

Re: Forum Update

Heyyo,

It feels more efficient too.. like, you see more of the messages. :)

The only prob I see is with firefox v1.5 and the quotations don't work right when you edit your post.. or at least when they were in a code space.

Interesting, hadn't noticed. Could you make a screenshot please ?

Re: Forum Update

Heyyo,

I'll post an example. I'll put the first quotation in, then edit it, and put in a second one.. watch.

Code:

" the 2nd one now "
Hmm... well... it was doing it on that linux thread, and I had to manually edit each one... seems ok now... maybe I'm just paranoid. :P

Nova 26-12-2005 05:08

hehe, i'm working on the smilies, check the extended list if you dont believe me ...
*edit* oh, and there are new avatars as well ... the old one's got lost for some reason that is beyond me ...

Oh, and for people that want to support B-U and the server costs, i have added a Paid Subscription. Go to your User CP and then to "Paid Subscriptions"

Re: Forum Update

really nice skin :D
i prefer more compact ones but i see this is quite nice to distinguish posts aswell

just change the http://bots-united.com to the same style aswell, if you can, would be fantastic.

Re: Forum Update

Nova - can You make the link style more apparently for users-readers? Currently I need to have really good eyes to notive it's a link in the text.
Example is here.
Also there is still something not working with old smilies - especially with these for the message "You may chhose an icon for Your message from th efollowing list" - for some old messages the icons now means completly different emotion than those users wanted to show when they wrote their messages.
Examples:1, 2.
Also there is a lot of messages which uses old signs for smileys (like :) ) and they still aren't displayed correctly.
If You don't do this soon - the forum will be completly screwed up because the new post-creators will use Your new style and You will never be able to make some order with it...

Nova 31-12-2005 11:40

Re: Forum Update

Fixed. Set all old post icons to default icon:

mysql> UPDATE LOW_PRIORITY `post` SET `iconid` = 0 WHERE `iconid` != 0
mysql> COMMIT

Expl: To difficult to muck around looking what "emotion" is bound to what iconid ... this way, we start clean.

Well - either You didn't get what I mean (and You fixed something else :D ) or Your fix doesn't work. Look at the picture below. In red elipses there are marked icons which are displayed something different than in original posts (by topic starters). Also I can't still type :) to get it by vBulletin as emoticon. I think there might be some bigger problem with it, but I don't think it's really difficult for You attach some scripts for about 16 smileys (we were using for old vBulletin) to make something like this ;) = .

But these "Post icons" (below the window You are typing any post) still are screwed up. Move the mouse at the icon area and look at the description (what it this icon supposed to show which emotion). Really no-one can see it?

Nova 01-01-2006 22:07

Re: Forum Update

Should be fixed now ... there were icons not matching the description ...

Thanks, Sebastian. There is also one mistake in the list of smilies these You put in post's text - right side of the window You typing the post. Click at "more" and find this what is in my attachement. Normally the icon with man with black glasses means "cool" or something like that and shortcut ": P" (without quotes and without space) means "tonque" or something like that. And still missing shortcut for the standard smile ": )" (without quotes and without space).

Nova 02-01-2006 14:11

Re: Forum Update

Fixed ... (i hope :P)

KWo 02-01-2006 15:33

Re: Forum Update

Thanks again. That "shifty" for ":)" maybe shouldn't "shift" eyes. Maybe just use the old icon from old vBulletin for that shortcut?
Sorry for bothering You so long time. And thanks for Your patientce.

KWo 02-01-2006 19:58

Re: Forum Update

Just found also one smile (one of the most frequently used) not working with new BU style. It's ";)" (without quotes and without space) - should be as "wink" or something like it.

Nova 02-01-2006 20:54

Re: Forum Update

Done and done !

KWo 02-01-2006 22:34

Re: Forum Update

The second one - OK, but the first one - hmmm - seems You like the new icon saying "yes" by moving its head up and down. This icon for ": )" would be OK with the same smile but without moving the head up and down - like it's in all messangers and as it was before - with old vBulletin. The icon "Yes" means in messangers something else...
I hope You will not lose the patience for me. ;)
:innocent:
