I knew this, and I already boycott them, for a few years. It all started when I tried to put a Sony audio CD in my computer. It installed shit without my approval, and I've had a hard time to delete it. Some time later I did the same thing with another Sony CD, same shit. And some time again later, identical. Now, no way a Sony CD, CDROM or DVD gets into my drive. And by extension, no official and legitimate CD either. Finished. For ever.

Does this mean since i have a Sony DVD-r drive that it has installed shit? I didnt use the software that came with it I installed Roxio instead of the nero bs.

I suppose not, usually platform-dependent software such as media players and DRM management stuff aren't bundled inside the firmware, they rather accompany it on the software CD that comes with it.

This is why I have auto insert notification disabled. Just remember to not double click on the CD drive, though.
