Fixing my Mp3 Player...woah!
It's really annoying if either side is loosing a signal
on your earphones. the classic annoyance since the wealkman's era. twisting bring backs the signal so it means something has loosen up. Worst it's not my headpone jack or cord, it's on the unit itself. So after 3-4 hours of gathering enough courage and geek power lol I tried dismantling and fixing my good old mp3 player/flash disk. The pics... http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y15...mp3-player.jpg my little portable music buddy. http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y15...ottom-part.jpg uugrrhhh! it was tough but i got the bottom cover removed. but can't seem to do anything as the problem seems to be on the other side of the circuit board. http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y15...cuit-board.jpg on the other side... finally saw the problem and as i knew it the other channel lost contact and needs reconnection. http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y15...3-soldered.jpg soldered it for good, hehehe. http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y15...04-testing.jpg tested it first before putting it back together. ....wow it's working! YEHEY!!!!!!! So there you have it. My major geek-tweak for the week lol! Cheers!!! |
Re: Fixing my Mp3 Player...woah!
kuul, although i don't think i could do it... just the thought of putting a screwdriver near my fragile innocent mp3player... I'll probably loose it somewhere before it breaks anyway

Re: Fixing my Mp3 Player...woah!
Well, I'd taken it to the shop, but, if you can fix it, why not? :D

Re: Fixing my Mp3 Player...woah!

Re: Fixing my Mp3 Player...woah!
I think he already did post up pics of the Woodputer©®. I'd search and post a link, but I'm busy man with important things to do.

Re: Fixing my Mp3 Player...woah!
well he posted outside pictures and drawings of it, but not pictures of his soldered motherboard yet.

Re: Fixing my Mp3 Player...woah!

Re: Fixing my Mp3 Player...woah!
Whether the people demand or not, beloved presidents usually ignore their people :) And I don't have such sentimental relations to my hardware, right now I just need to get a hand on that damned digicam.
|
Re: Fixing my Mp3 Player...woah!
like we care how sentimental you are with your hardware. Honestly, we don't even want to know. Just clean it up, shoot some photo's, upload to our beloved server and pwn! :P
[kiddies voice on] PLEASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSEEEEEEEEEEEE [kiddies voice off] |
Re: Fixing my Mp3 Player...woah!

what's that digicam Pierre? |
Re: Fixing my Mp3 Player...woah!
the woodputer
http://racc.bots-united.com/woodputer.jpg the motherboard, screwed in a barbarian fashion http://racc.bots-united.com/mobo-all.jpg the sound amp, left part = amp, right part = knobs, in the middle is the RJ45 outlet (soldered too) http://racc.bots-united.com/mobo-amp.jpg I once destroyed the bottom resistor with my screwdriver, attempting to use it as an axe to unstick the CPU dissipator. Had to unmount every single piece in the puter to find it (it's about 2mm long). Then I soldered it back and here we go. http://racc.bots-united.com/mobo-soldered.jpg *bows to the audience* |
Re: Fixing my Mp3 Player...woah!
*standing ovation*
But you urgently need to clean that mobo :D And that kb is a little too yellow too... :P |
Re: Fixing my Mp3 Player...woah!
OMG!!! that's awesome Pierre!!!
You should make it's own thread although I'm honored you stick the pics here. So how much hrtz does it has and how many days before it can open Micorsoft Word? LOL just kidding. |
Re: Fixing my Mp3 Player...woah!
About word, thats a tricky question :P
If you have Word 95, it runs fast on any pc, but Word 2003 , takes a lot longer to load. I think you can make a formula of that: Load time = Current year - Year version of Office * 1.5 Where loadtime is in minutes ;) Ow, and you must put a 19 before Word 95-97 |
Re: Fixing my Mp3 Player...woah!
well it's a modest 2.4GHz with 512Mb DDR and a shitty GeForce 4 MX, but that's enough to play HL2 just fine :)
Okay, not with all the fancy effects turned on. |
Re: Fixing my Mp3 Player...woah!
