EPB still not loading.
 

Hi guys,
I've installed epb correctly into my ded. server\cstrike directory. I also have Metamod and AMX(X) installed as well, so I was hoping that when epb loads, it would load metamod since it is a metamod plugin. But nothing happens. :| Epb doesn't even load when my server starts, and in turn does not load my other plugins. There is nothing wrong with AMX(X) and Metamod coz they work fine without epb installed. I've searched through the whole forum, did that +localinfo thing, but to no avail. :(

Here is my liblist.gam:

I can install other bots fine but I can't seem to install epb and I know I did everything right. Also, I've tried loading metamod first and added epb in plugins.ini. That works: all plugins are in. But then epb doesn't work even though it says it does. None of the commands work, like the menus and such.

Download EPBv5 and try again.

It is the latest version of EPBv5. And it still won't work.

EPB now is a real metamod plugin(like AMX). Just configurate your plugins.ini to load EPB.dll and all will be OK.

Ok, I reinstalled AMX(X) and then reinstalled EPB again. I already did try that by putting it in the plugins.ini. It works like I said.. except the menus don't work. I press p and it doesn't show. I've already added titles.txt and still to no avail. :(

When it did work, not the menus, my server was automatically filled with the bots and then it crashed my server. It went over the maximum of 16 bots as I configured, when it did, it crashed it. So, I turned off auto fillserver. When I try to access the menus, it says unknown command .. it's already binded and epb is loaded. I tried going through the console but nothing worked. :(

Don't reinstall AMX and metamod. The problem is not there. Maybe you are not installed EPB in to the correct dir?
Let me explain. So run the EPBv5 installer and after that select your counter-strike dir like this exsample here:
X:\Games\Valve\Steam\SteamApps\your_account\counte r-strike\
Where X:\ is the your HDD drive.
Now just select install and start the server. The bots must be OK. ;)

Ya, it's installed correctly. It's in C:\PFiles\Steam\SteamApps\name\dedicated server\cstrike.. I'm sure that's right. But it's still not working. :(

Ok whatever, I can't get this to work. All I wanted to do was see if it will work with mean mod and I'm sure it can. I just wanted to test if I can get it to work without meanmod else I might run into more problems. But, I'm gonna go ahead and try to get it working with mean mod. :D

Ok, I have mean mod installed like this.
In my liblist.gam: gamedll "addons\metamod\dlls\metamod.dll"
Target line for DS: +localinfo mm_gamedll mean/mean.dll +localinfo mbotmod epodbot

This is the only way mean mod would properly work with metamod and amx(x). The other methods just crashes my ds. Everything is working perfectly. All plugins are in, epb is ready to be used until I check the console in my ds.

It does not load any bots on ther server. ???:( Any ideas? I'm about ready to quit on this bot and go back to using Podbot. -_-"

I can't understand what do you want.
First I have never used meanmod so I can't help you for it.
But I'm sure that you don't need by

because EPB is a real metamod plugin. Just add it to the plugins.ini(like amx).

Even without meanmod, it won't work, and I don't know why. It's in the right directories, it's in plugins.ini, my liblist.gam is right, what else could it be? Everything loads fine, but the bots will not join, it doesn't even go in spectator mode and the menus don't even appear let alone work after I put the fix in.

When I put auto fill on, the bots will fill my server but, it goes over the max of 16 bots and just fills my server, I can't even get in coz there's 24 bots out of 24 spots. Then it crashes coz it's overloading. So then what? I turn off auto fill, and I can't add any bots.

How specific can I get other than that??

Do you have any others bots installed before EPB. If not, I don't have any more ideas. :-/ You can try PodBot_mm, YaPB or JoeBot.

Ya, before I installed this, I had Pobot_mm installed. I wanted to try epb for it's ultraskill mode as many of the players found podbot to be easy.

I'm going to try installing Realbot, coz it seems "hard" if I can't fix this problem with epb. 8D

Man I got to say that new version of Epod bot is really great.When I turned it on..man, the bots seemes so realistic, they now have more human behavior, but the hand grenade is little bad, they throw them too much in the air, so it harms only air, u can work on that little better.
I know that version 5 beta has been released a week ago, but when is retail version of Epod 5 coming out??? Cause I'm weeping for that starting screen " version 5 of Epod bot made by..."
and yes new names of chat bot has really impressed me, I love those kind of things.

Is this EPB 5 still loading metamod instead vice-versa (like all other bots dll do it)? Maybe that's why he got confused and can't get it to work?

Well, I put epb in plugins.ini since it's a metamod plugin. And it works, just that menus and bots don't work as in joining.

Anyway, I went back to pbot and when the final release for epb beta is out, I'll try again. Btw, PBot owns with mean installed! 8D

What do You exactly mean - they are too easy? Were You using all in one installer (with botaim2 - it should be disabled to have bots harder - otherwise they really can hit nothing) or You were using the fullpack of podbot?

I didn't use the all in one staller, I downloaded the zip file from the NVT site and it is up to date. Ya, players found them to be easy, but now that I have mEAnmod installed, they are GOD-LIKE! :D\

KWo check the version history. ;) EPB is now a real metmoad plugin and open source under GNU/GPL. The good is that EPB can be runned and without metamod as a standart hook dll plugin(thanks to Whistler for that). :)

well, I tried to run it as a metamod but it gives me error:
E[POD]bot: meta-interface version mismatch (metamod: 5:12, E[POD]bot: 5:10)

It will then read the epb config, but fail to stop creating bots at MAX_BOTS 6, but fill up with 12 bots which is my MAPLAYER setting. and ultraskill doesn't work.

it will also autofill with bots making it unaible for humans to connect if they doen't connect within a certain time after server start

Well, checking the commands in console, I can see that server reads the commands in epb config file, but it seems to ignore the max_bots 4 command, even if I try to put it in the server config file aswell! It will start autofilling bots and unable humans to connect! What's wrong with this mod????

My67 solution was to set AUTOFILL OFF and add bots through the command AMX_RCON EPG ADDBOT in console when playing (since I have amxmod) or just simply epb addbot in the server console.

Then the lagging dissapeared and I could add as many bots as wanted! Only downside is that bots will not go away when humans connect and autoconnect when humans drop or when map changes.....

The lagging was due to the mod trying to create new bots all the time, taking alot of CPU time

I have the same problem.
I have PodBot MM installed with MetaMod and it works very good.
Then I just deactivated PodBot and activated EPodBot in plugins.ini with the same settings but no bots joined the server.

No, I meant that I use the same settings if it is possible in each config.
I have only changed in the metamod.ini from /podbot/pod.dll to /epod/epod.dll

Ok, I noticed this with EPB, that my p and = buttons don't work. That's because the console command to use EPB is "botmenu" and not "podbotmenu" like it was before. So try typing botmenu in the console and see if anything happens. Now for meanmod? you get it to load EPB as if it were PODbotmm, just different dll directories is all.

So yes, I think your main prob was the botmenu thing, cause that was mine until I fiddled around and remembered the old syntax. :P

And yes, meanmod is awesome cause it does make bots harder. But some parts of meanmod are already in EPB. I know LN did some source exchanging with Botmeister, so the knife code from meanmod is in EPB, and maybe otherparts I'm forgetting. ;)

In my situation its not a problem with the menu.
EPB does not work.
It crashes my server and does not fill it with bots!

Ok, type this in the console:

bind "p" "botmenu"

cause for now that's the command used in epb v5b cause they're reworking the commands to include an epb prefix, so this is one change to note while the transition takes place.

Ok, if you can post me where your EPODbot folder is located, and your liblist.gam file, and if you use metamod, your plugins.ini file, and I'll see what I can do to help you man.

Now, after testing, no, mEAnmod doesn't work with EPB cause it doesn't know the epb prefix for the commands. One of the coders of EPB will contact botmeister to add in this functionality once he's got all the commands with prefixes setup and finalized.

MarD some things from the your post are not true.
EPBv5b still use the old commands without any kind of prefix.
The command for the bot menu still is podbotmenu.
The beta version that I had sended to you use the epb_ prefixes. ;)

Hmm, yeah, seems I was mixed up between the versions, lol, so yes, epb v5b uses the console command "podbotmenu" to bring up the bot's menu.

And yes, we know that the min_bots and max_bots settings aren't working for now. The coders of EPB are going to try and fix that.
