Ohio

Nothing wrong (directly) with Ohio. I even have many great relatives currently living there. I just think we can all agree it's a bit of an "inconvenient" state, if you know that i mean.

Should something be done about it?

If yes, how severe? Should the US declare war on Ohio? or something less?
maybe...a wall? something restritive of course.

I'm not jumping to a conclusion, just looking for opinions.

Let me know!

The majority of active off-topic forum guys here aren't American, so its doubtful most of us can provide insight on US inter-state politics.

To me, its exactly the same as every other state. Did they do something recently to piss off all the other states?

Re: Ohio

or has it something to do with the elections last year?

HangFire 23-07-2005 05:43

Re: Ohio

If it does, then its a subject that can't be can't be touched. I don't think there has been a single intelligent debate about it, on or off the internet.

Re: Ohio

50%?! Thats criminal. I thought my 30% was bad, and my province is the birthplace of socialism in Canada.

What are you complaining about? Brazil has the highest taxes in the world! I dunno the percentage, but they are the highest.

I don't get the point here. What's so wrong with Ohio ?

Exilibur 25-07-2005 04:32

Re: Ohio

creusson, are you sure brazil has the highest taxes in the world?

Because i'm pretty certain that the honour belongs to one of the nordic countries. Here in denmark we have a basic taxation of 45% or something like that, and from there it just goes up... most people get taxed around 60%.

(which is neat, I think)

If Ohio would have voted for John Kerry, George Bush would have lost the election.

Has anyone seen those voter supression videos?

I guess you're right, but at least public education and health services WORK there... Here we pay our asses off and don't get any improvement, especially because of the corruption.

I wasn't aspersing anything about politics,or actually even the geographical location. I was just commenting on the state...i mean, just look at it. And isn't "Ohio" a bit of a silly name? Come on little guy, give it up...something must be done!

HangFire 26-07-2005 07:18

Re: Ohio

What should they rename it to? Bradonia?

You can be the grand poobah of it, and rule all the lands with a just yet firm hand.

I'll be your warlord, we can go annex Nebraska.

Pierre-Marie Baty 26-07-2005 08:53

Re: Ohio

Makes me wonder how one calls the inhabitants of Ohio.

Exilibur 26-07-2005 13:50

Re: Ohio

why would you annex Nebraska? wouldn't Indiana be a more obvious choice, geographically speaking?

HangFire 26-07-2005 16:26

Re: Ohio

Well, I dunno. I'm just the Warlord, I don't know the neighbours. You can be our minister of geography.

Well, that's perhaps part of the problem. Doesn't that sound like a donkey's shout ?

Cpl. Shrike 26-07-2005 18:39

Re: Ohio

Maybee they can make a state anthem about it.
Ohioans donkey twist.

That would make great jodel to shout over the mountains if they have any.

OH-HI-OH

that explains it.

Exilibur 27-07-2005 14:15

Re: Ohio

Haha, I will be the minister of geography, and i will dictate where everything is, was and must be.

My first command will probably be to move Ohio out in the pacific ocean, so we could have a somewhat nicer climate. Or i might just command to the climate to come to Ohio.... muahaha, my powers are unlimited!

HangFire 27-07-2005 16:28

Re: Ohio

For your powers to be unlimited we need a minister of truth to make the unwashed massess believe what they need to believe to better our great nation.
