I might give this a try, I never did play Dune when I was a kid.

I also think we should make a thread based solely on advertisement of free, or open source, or otherwise independent games that most people don't know about.

To be honest I'd rather just stick to paintball, ComSim sounds like some kind of Matrix LARP thing. I guess it'd be good if you don't have any Paintball equipment, and you want to play around in a city. But, I'd miss the shooting part too much. Hunting is fun, but thats only half the game.

QSpace Hulk, a remake of the old Games Workshop game Space Hulk, but for PC. No AI. Only hotseat and PBEM. They included network multiplay in the last version, but that feature doesn't work on XP boxes.

I can hear the Retros already; "Die, by the very weapons you adore!". Its been so many years since I played it, but I can still remember so much of it so clearly.

Game summary for the lazy:
Get missions, buy ships/upgrades, do story campaign missions ounce in a while. Open-ended, can potentially be a bounty hunter, pirate or merchant. Based off of the Wing Commander universe.

Glad you like it. I am working on it from time to time, and when you see the new release you'll dr00l about the graphics enhancement we've made to let Dune 2 relive. Ow, and it aint DUNE 2000 like, since we kept the original dune 2 gfx... we just... made it look less blocky hehe.

anyway, here a teaser of the menu. I am thinking of changing the menu design though..

Mount&Blade

Indie action/RPG game. 3rd and 1st person. Create a character, buy stuff, hire a goon squad, go kill people and take their stuff.

Its still in beta. The guy is selling the game in its current unfinished state, with new patches coming out frequently. I really like how the developer is honest, when companies sell their betas they usually attempt to pass the buggy thing off as a final version. :-/

Has some pretty nice features, like the horse combat. Some things can be frusterating (like archery), but still a fun game.

The demo is limited to character level 5, ounce you hit it the game will end.

Any how I am a big Dune fan so can't wait to try this out.
I hope you tried to stay true to the books rather than david lynch's pish.

the graphics had undergone some refinemend:

- first take them from dune 2
- then double size them
- then sharpen them
- and if not done well, redo step 3 ;)

Basicly above is a result of that, and a lot of work. The game will be in 2 modes. Like, dune 2 mode. And an own game where the world map will be alive as well. Nothing i've seen before in any RTS game.

I downloaded the arrakis version thingy I hope thats the right one.
Been playing around with it. I like it.
However I couldn't attack anything :(
Can't wait to see worm sign.
Oh and the screen scrolls too fast for my liking.

*btw, i hate this new keyboard, wireless, it skips some key hits. Argh
