Yeah but if he did that, he'd have a legion of horny nerds trying to hit on him in every server.
There might be a way to screw with your mic and make it send things with the wrong frequency. I know HL normally uses something like 11hz, but if the sound is wrong it'll play really slow or really fast. |
Re: Voice Changing Software
I don't think that would work, as it's being sent in real-time, hence unless you also speak twice as fast, the resulting sound would be hashed or something.
stick your mic with rubber tape on your neck, on a side, just below the jaw, just to see? :P |
Re: Voice Changing Software
did someone say software???

Re: Voice Changing Software
I would look for a hardware solution that can go in between your microphone and your computer. You could always write a program to do it, though.

Re: Voice Changing Software
Download some random music effects generater and fool around with the effects... should be something there that would make the sound different, at least.
But don't get your hopes up, chances are it's just gonna sound stupid instead. Usually the qualitity if the output is dependent on the quality of the input, so if your voice sounds like a girl, you can probably get it to sound like a girl with a deep voice instead. |
Re: Voice Changing Software
What you're looking for is a sound modulator... or more specifically, a Voice Modulator. I've had a quick look, and the cheapest solution I've found is a $15US kit. http://electronickits.com/kit/complete/surv/ck211.htm. You'll need to add two 3.5mm jack plugs to it. Check with your local electronics supplier, such as Radio Shack.
