Wanted: Your help on some game sounds!
 

Ok, its not for me actually, but for a friend. And i promised to ask my loyal servants... so here i am ;)

The sounds are listed here (and comments translated from Dutch to English). Any help is appreciated... If yo ucan send me a sound, or a pack of sounds. Don't hasitate. Use my stefan@bots-united.com adress ;)

Well, I guess you could find most of them in any P2P program w/ a search function...

i don't use such programs. They are big 'give me virus' programs ;)

You could try downloading some of them from the MAME website. Look under samples.

Also, you could convert some Sega ones with an GYM player if you can find the GYMs.

Ok.. I started searching, figured I'd find Pacman first. Gave up after a couple of minutes.

Then I figured I'd rip out the AWP sound from CS, but from some stupid reason GCF scape broke, I don't have the installer anymore, and the homepage of GCF is also broken.

Then I was going to load up Dehacked and get the Doom 2 shotty noise out, then I noticed for the first time that Dehacked isn't in my Doom directory, and I gave up on that one.


Well I've done my part, good luck with finding them :P .

PMB: Let me guess. You originally wanted to write GLDoom, but then you found an existing project, so you went with Wolfenstein instead?

stefanhendriks: I found Zaxxon samples on MAME's website. They are not the game, just sounds recorded from the game's hardware. Get them at http://www.mame.net/downsamples.html. I will try to get the death sound from Contra for you. I will send it over MSN.

And I've got to ask you Stefan, why does this guy need such a collection of sounds? Whats the project?

it will cure a desease that is deadly.. but listening to game sounds he played will cure it..

if i was looking for the sounds i would get the games and use a app like fraps that records sounds and vids for directx games.. great makin ingame vids and movies..

made a few for doom3..

P2P imo is rather safe.. if you know what you are doing and use the right app.. i use DC++ 0.666

got to like the version.. i have one hub that works for me.. regged member and all.. never had any problem there.. find most stuff.. safer then searcing on the net..
