Help with installing bots. Using HLDS (the one that came with steam)
 

Alright, I had metamod and AMX before, and I deleted both becuse I thought that that was why RB wasn't working.

now i've tried again.

No luck.

Its as if the bots don't exist.

I installed the bots to

steam/steamapps/email/counter-strike/realbot

If I'm running the HLDS should i put it in steam/steamapps/email/dedicated server?

I tried that before too.. and it didn't work (BUT I HAD METAMOD INSTALLED)

What can I do? I am willing to use rcon instead of amxmod

The H button didn' twork and I couldn't add bots.

Amx and Metamod are working here,...

Did you check your liblist.gam for readonly???

Yes I did.
See I'd have to use the WIP version to use metamod. i'm using the one with the installer.

I don' tknow wahts wrong.

I've tired everything that I've seen on this forums.

Can someone just tell me the directories I should be installing to when using the HLDS steam?

If the path to the dll being loading in liblist.gam is not found, or is invalid, then the game will not load at all. This means one of two things, either a different liblist.gam is being loaded than the one you think, or realbot is being loaded successfully.

Try renaming the liblist.gam file, or try loading something that is invalid to see what happens.

I'm a bit confused on what you mean. I posted my liblist gam and it looks okay right?

How do I fix this.. I only have 2 liblist.gams. One oin my counter-strike/cstriek and one in my deidcadted servers/cstrike.

That post just completely confused me :D

do you want to use the WIP version, you are able to set up metamod so i don't see why you wouldn't

your realbot command for WIP should be in the metamod plugins.ini if you have had amx running in the past set that up again then just think of realbot as another plugin like amx

I can see 2 problems:
- Do you launch a listen server?
- Where your realbot.dll is installed?

i did another update at my site that should be some help go to my site and download the full pack theres only a couple simple instructions to follow it is adminmod metamod and realbot pre configured and edited all the work is down you just have to put them where they go

you can add in amx once everything is in its place and running, go to amx site and download it then in the metamod ini just add in the the amx win32 code
you can run adminmod and amx at the same time

after you download the pack i put together just place the files where they go and it should run right away everything is preconfigured and installed there are 3 folders adminmod and realbot which both go into your counter-server folder if your running the dedicated server that comes with steam it goes in dedicated server folder or if your running hlds standalone in hlserver and "my" cstrike folder just copy and paste its contents into "your" cstrike folder do not copy "my" cstrike folder itself of you will loose all your custom maps and sounds and models

if you do use my full pack please let me know how it works out in the guest book to see if i missed something thanks

Worked perfectly. Except now I realize why my menu didn't show up.. it wasn't binded haha. However, you did help me install my admin mod again (only reason i used amx was cuz my adminmod was screwed up)

Now.. last question, in HLDS for steam I have to have

RCON RBDS before EVERY COMMAND, making the command menu useless.

However i edited the menu with rcon rbds before every command that the command menu sends.

You think this will work in game?

try it let me know how it works out i'm guessing the command menu would have to be client side and enter your rcon password before useing the menu

I use the BUILT IN HLDS and I can play on the same machine which is exactly waht I do.

ok that makes sense but you gave me a good idea :) command menu shouldn't be a problem what realbot are you running?
and to let you know you are running a listen server which is not a dedicated server dedicated you can not play on

and your command menu isn't working? did you try bind h to command menu
