Welcome YaPB!

Whistler is now part of Bots United but curiously enough no one opened his forum yet. This mistake is now fixed. Long live YaPB! :)

Welcome Whistler! :D
I locked your old forums so people will post here.
and how do you guys decide what order to put the bots in.. seems to be completely random..

Hehe, anyway it's nice to see the YaPB forum here... Hopefully, BU will prove to be a good place for everything about this bot.
Have a good time, all YaPB users and especially Whistler, and good luck with the new YaPB home!

The rest is up to you guys out there...

The buffet is opened! :D

Re: Welcome YaPB!

we can set the order ourselves, here I had put a number so that this forum would have been added at the bottom, but it looks like it was the wrong one :D

Thanks :)

Re: Welcome YaPB!

There is something else to fix. I see Whistler is still as a "Member". Should be rather as a "Moderator" for his-own forum... :)

Pierre-Marie Baty 30-08-2004 13:14

Re: Welcome YaPB!

It's Whistler's custom user title. Looks like he doesn't want people to know that he's a mod. You're confusing people, Whistler :)

KWo 30-08-2004 16:20

Re: Welcome YaPB!

I've tried to change my "moderator" title to "member" or something else, but I couldn't do this. So I think You are laughing at me, PMB. :)

I swear I'm not !

Whistler, a word on this ?

Oh, didn't noticed this forum :) (Usually I only check the top and the bottom of the forums :))
Anyways, congrats

Re: Welcome YaPB!

sorry but I have no clue about how to change it :(
I've clicked the "group membership" thing but it just doesn't let me do anything:

There are currently no public usergroups available for you to join.

Re: Welcome YaPB!

It seems still something is incorrect with this "modding" people at BU. Some of the people stayed moderators at begining of joining here (they didn't want this) and some of them now stayed moderators, becasue of some admin's intervention, but they aren't. Seems something to do for dstruckt2k. ;)
Or maybe I'm wrong and some admin simply forgot make Whistler as a "moddie"? :D

Pierre-Marie Baty 31-08-2004 16:23

Re: Welcome YaPB!

He IS a moderator, I modded him myself !!!
this is mind boggling o_O

*edit*
I changed his custom user title. He was indeed a moderator, but curiously his usertitle hadn't switched automatically to "Moderator".

Re: Welcome YaPB!

Pierre, don't take this too much to Your-self...Take this rather as some "bug report in some php script" and re-direct this problem to some responsible person. ;) I supposed, You are already used to my style, but seems like I still irritate You... :(

Re: Welcome YaPB!

KWo, we've already addressed this issue about mods... Check the admin forum more often, we had a big discussion about it.

As for Whistler still being a "Member", that's a bug that was in the version of vBulletin we were using -- we have since upgraded.

KWo 02-09-2004 14:13

Re: Welcome YaPB!

I was reading something about this, the new users stayed a moderators. But I didn't see yet before that some moderators after modding them by admin are still displayed as a "members". This was new for me (seems not only for me :D ). Sorry, if I didn't get Your point...:o

Welcome YaPB! is good

Hello forums it's great feeling to become participants for bots united
we hope we can create this bots to make this life easier.

Allright i tried this Yapb and it rocks i really like this bots
their accuracy is improving and maving a bit hard right now
one thing that want to ask for whistlers

Did the podbot 2.6 source code different from the old one?
because when i played with the bots it's not roaming the map
as good as earlier version of real Podbot eg 2.0 pr 2.5 it seems that
the extended bots from Podbot little lacks of roaming and sometimes
to shy when difussing the bomb.
I tried to play in de_aztec they good but they not roaming as Podbot does
ct will stay on bomb near the ct's base and waiting for terorrist to get in and ambush though not always but maybe they think more deep =) to planning
but Yapb is good bot and it better than Ivp i guess

Go on whistler "for someone can give the answer u're a god" haha

Whistler 22-09-2004 08:53

Re: Welcome YaPB!

POD-Bot 2.6 = POD-Bot 2.5 + buggy A* code which doesn't work at all + some fixes + some bugs (A LOT more than fixes) :)

and in YaPB I have changed a lot to the pathfinder, the "defensive" and "normal" bots will try to avoid danger places. Perhaps this is why they are "too shy to defuse the bomb". POD-Bot 2.5 will ONLY try to find the shortest path even if they hurts a lot there :)

moboerotica 23-09-2004 04:54

Re: Welcome YaPB!

Thanks whistler i really appreciated it the answer is quite satisfying
as u said Pod 2.6 is getting a bit tricky or maybe careful enough.
Any plans to get those bot become not to shy again and back like
podbot does because i find it a bit boring to wait this ct's to encounter
terrorist and defuse the bomb and sometimes makes me dead for waiting
this nice bot to come for the party hhaha
i read the src lastnight and think maybe it better implement than rather
ignored =)

Ok thanks whistler Yapb GO,GO,GO
