Anyone using amxmod and realbot?
Hi,
a few days ago I checked out the source (wip) via cvs, compiled and installed it. I thought it runs fine until I found out, some (most) of our amx-modules don't work any more. I commented realbots out and amxmod works. Amxmod is version 0.9.8 (some alpha/beta) Do you have any hints? I've read about amxmodx, but I try to avoid writing new amx-modules. i use realbot and amx mod X. have been for a few months now.
don't know about the old amx 0.9.8. AMXX version 2 should be out soon, and its looking very good. am running the preview at the minture and it pretty solid. |

try the amx 0.99 or go download amxx 0.20
and you need metamod 1.17.2 from www.metamod.org and maybe it works then |

I would like to add bots to my server, not many people play there, so I was hoping if I add bots, more people may join. I am using amx modx .20 and steam(cs 1.6). How difficult is it to setup(I've never used bots before)? Is there a menu you can use in the game to bring up a gui for commands? I was hoping I could be able to add or remove bots on the fly and also if enough people join, turn off bots on the fly. Is this possible? I know you didn't create realbots, but it sounds like you are familiar with a setup similar to mine. thanks, Rodge |

"h" brings up the realbot menu.
also there is a plugin for amx mod x that will add bots for you it has a GUI and can be set to any amount of bots you want. |

the only plugin I could find was for CZ bots, not cs, is there one I'm missing? |

try this out mate, realbot control. you might have to change a few things to get it to work on amx mod x as it is an old amx plugin. let me know if you need help, i should be able to get it going for you if you do. |

rex, I got the plugin to work. I took a look at the sma file and could only find one reference to directory structure and I changed that to how amxmodx has it's directories structured, but I keep seeing a message in my console that says it couldn't execute addons/amx/realbotcontrol.cfg but I'm using windows. How can I find what is pointing to this directory? I looked in server.cfg, adminmod plugins.ini, I just didn't see anything. I'm also seeing this, which makes sense after seeing the other error:
WARNING: RealBot is NOT installed into the correct directory! WARNING: rbnbx files will not be created nor personality files! |

here you go mate, try this one out. it is the one that i have ported over to amxx. have changed a few other things and it seems to be working okay now.

you think it's the plugin? Heck, I thought it was the module itself. Thanks, I'll give it a go! Rex, I took your sma file and tried to compile it, but I got 2 warnings, warning 203 symbol is never used "ID"....same error twice, any ideas? |

yes mate i get them too, shouldn't stop it from working as they are just warning.
will ask on amxx and see if someone there can help me. maybe you can ask too, as i am a little busy this weekend. |

Hey, guys I appreciate the help I've gotten so far, but realbots does not like the directory structure for the newest amxmodx, .20 rc7. I still get an error(posted above) because of the directories. My bots do exhibit really strange behaviors sometimes. For example, if there isn't a live person in the game(not spectating), the bots just stand around, so nobody can play because all the bots are still alive until the round ends and the skill level of the bots is always super high, no matter how I create them to start.
