What is CS-Classic 2.0?
CS-Classic 2.0 is a mod based on the beta versions of CS. Focusing on the mid to late beta stages, it includes classic skins, maps, and no limitations that we see in CS 1.6. You old skool players should find this mod very pleasing and for those of you who have never had a chance to see what CS was once like, here is your chance. We got rid of the old version and started on a new CS-Classic from scratch. We are sure this will satisfy the CS gamers out there. This new version of CS-Classic is a complete rework of the original and it is fully compatible with Steam. The beta versions of CS were very different to what you play today. Here's a list of differences between CS-Classic and CS 1.6.

Gameplay issues:

> In CS-Classic you are able to jump freely without any slowdown after you hit the ground.

> When planting the bomb, instead of being restricted by planting in one position, you are able to move around freely as long as you are still within the bombsite area.

> There is slightly less recoil on all guns.

> A lot of the guns handle differently.

> When unzoomed with sniper rifles, the crosshair is still present.

> Terroist are able to move the hostages.

There are more differences in game. You'll see them all when you download it.

Skins & Sounds:

> As CS-Classic is based on the older versions of CS, it contains the old skins and animations. No, they're not the best skins in the world but they were the skins used in CS and to keep that beta feel, these skins have been included in CS-Classic 2.0.

> All the old CS sounds have been included to keep that beta feel.

Maps:

> CS-Classic 2.0 includes classic CS maps such as cs_docks, cs_iraq... plus older versions of current maps you see in CS. Older versions of dust and aztec have been included. We've even included dust2 as we know you all love it.

podbot may be able to work...i've got cs classic..i never knew about cs till 1.3\1.4 (around that update from .3 to .4) so i never knew the old skool stuff...but it looks fun...

as i said podbot maybe able to work but may have a few issues, i'll try make a some wp's for some maps over next week and try the bot out...


sploryygon \kwo\pmb might know better though

well since CS:Classic is a completely rewritten mod, not everything will be the same as cs (code-wise) so you might have to make a new bot to support it or add code to a bot that supports completely different mods all in one such as RACC, HPB, and Whistler's new bot in the works, and maybe more that I dunno of..

Heyyo,

Heh, yeah, I remember playin' CS v1.0 n' stuff, but I've never tried any of the betas... guess CS classic will be close enough. :D

as for a bot with deathmatch classic? I'm sure HPB bot supports that, both steam and non-steam. N' I think Akimbot does too, and RACCbot....

Heyyo,

Heh, diddn't know it supported that. I mainly use RCbot for Natural Selection, since it's the only bot I know that does great as marines. I remember before I tried to use RCbot for marines, and Whichbot for the aliens by botmixer 5000... my attempts to make it compatible were a horrible failiure... if you know a bot mixing plugin that works with natural selection plz tell me... :P

Do the hpb bots still have the old version of the maps waypoints or are we going to have to create our own?

I don't know at all... I'd rather think that as far as CS is concerned, the HPB_bot comes with NO waypoints for CS :)

You have to create them :)

Heyyo,

Yeah, I remember 1st testing HPBbot on DE_Dust2... I though "err... they're not very smart...." n' then I turned on waypointing mode, n' realised there was no waypoints. I love how on HPBbot (unlike PODbot) you can waypoint with bots already on the map! :) Lol, I'm starting to get addicted to RCbot, which implements the new HPBbot waypoint system, on Sven coop because of this, i'll start waypointing maps, n' if there's a big fight n' I die? I just plop down an objective flag onna waypoint, n' watch the 31 RCbots just swarm in n' get massacred, leaving me some time to finish waypointing the room. :P

I wonder if Cheesh has an official waypoint pack for the singleplayer campaign maps for sven coop... if not, I'll contribute the waypoints I've done. ;)

actually podbot mm u can now wp with bots on map. they'll freeze as soon as u add\edit the any wp

Heyyo,

True, but they don't use the waypoints as you make em is what I'm saying... If they did that, I'd make waypointing more fun, cause then there'd be enemy bots trying to get to the waypoints too, so there's a big bloody massacre. :P

ahhh okay, i think the freeze was to stop the game crashing?

coz the old podbot it would crash when bots tried to move and u was editing wp's

Heyyo,

Well, actually HuntKillaz, I was once able to add a waypoint while bots were onna map! If you do waypoint add, n' then save nocheck, n' then load all in sequencal order, you can pull it off! I did it once with 2 bots.. I tried again... n' diddn't hit the keys fast enough. :D

I also just tried:

bind "f5" "waypoint add;menuselect 1;wait 0;waypoint save nocheck;waypoint load"

and that works! well... for 1 waypoint, n' then it crashes as soon as you try it a 2nd time. :P

This was back in the day of PODbot v2.5, n' E[POD]bot waypointing. ;)
