Can't Load Bots HLDS
 

Ok so for the past couple of days I've been working to get bots for my steam dedicated server using HLDS, and for some reason, nothing works. I've tried IVP and E[POD] but I can't figure it out. I've installed everything correctly into all the directories imaginable, but when I load up the HLDS and attempt to execute commands, nothing happens. Is there something I'm doing wrong?

BTW, I'm using the AdminMod for my server, but regardless of that, I've changed the liblists 100s of times and the bots still will not work. My guess is I may need a new kind of bot or something. Any help?

well since you're using adminmod it should be better to use a metamod bot such as JoeBot, PODBot 2.6mm, Realbot, or YaPB..
they can all be loaded by metamod

Err.. Ok so I DL'd it and put it in the HLServer folder, edited the liblist to include the podbot_mm.dll file, and now hen I click "Start Server" it crashes..

Correction.. the bot folder was put into the cstrike inside the HLServer folder, and THAT liblist was edited.

OMG I truly don't know what I'm doing. Nevermind, I believe I've got it.

Ok so in the HLDS console, it has the bot stats. Now what's the command to add a bot? I've tried "addbot" and "pd addbot".

podbot 2.6mm is a metamod plugin..
and the stuff should belong in addons/podbot

pb fillserver [skill [personality [team [model]]]]
pb removebots
pb remove [team]
pb weaponmode <1-7>
pb killbots
and a lot more..

Er.. when I type them in the console on the HLDS, nothing happens, and if I type it on the INGAME console, it just says PD is an unrecognized command.

Not that I can see. So after I type META LIST and the adminmod and podbot come up, how will that let me use the commands???

Of CS? 1.6, and of course just DL'd the new version of pod 2.6mm, and I just updated the HLDS, running on steam.

Well, I changed the DLL, and in the HLDS console it shows the bots being active and it works great and they play (except it crashes sometimes with the "can't read memory" error, but I think that doesn't happen too often) but I can't access the podbotmenu function in the game, and "addbot" and "pd addbot" in the HLDS console do not add any bots!

And now I'm continuously getting the "Can't Read Memory" error with these bots. A common bug?

Heyyo,

Hmm, for accessing the podbot menu ingame, you'd need that rcon thing... something like that. I heard aboot it, to be a remote bot admin, n' then you could use the podbot menu n' stuff, otherwise no... so check into that. as for that "Can't Read Memory" error... I dunno, never had that problem.
