You have to download the full released version (final) at my website. It's version 5.0 for CS 1.6. The install manual is in there, look for install.txt

Everything else above 5.0 are WIP versions. These do not contain full documentation and only contain a changelog + the latest dll.

To install a beta, first install the full version, then overwrite mean.dll with the new one. Also read the changelog to know what's new.

Not clear on howto do. Understand liblist part but how do I have mEAn load metamod. Is that through autoexec?

put this in your command line assuming metamod is in the path shown, otherwise change it:

+localinfo mgamedll addons/metamod/dlls/metamod.dll

This will tell mean to load up metamod, once metamod loads the Realbot plugin gets loaded from the plugins.ini file.

You probably can put all this into the autoexec.cfg but I'm not sure.

There's no cvars yet for changing it. In the latest WIP the bots will always shoot back at TKers. I plan on adding a probablity of shooting back cvar, and a 3 cvars with the insults the bots use.

I ran around and pumped numerous rounds into the asses of bot teammates and not one turned back to shoot or wtf me. Could that have something to do with a clanmod cvar that protects admins from tk's?

Next WIP release will have a CVAR for turning the effect on and off, for now you'll have to turn FF off, or go with an older version without the TK effect.

At the moment I'm real busy figuring out Linux, but I'll try and get the next WIP out in a couple of days.

Are you sure you are using the latest version with the "wft" feature in it?

Also, make sure you are loading mEAn from liblist.gam, and not metamod. There's a thread in here somewhere about this.

mEAn 5.50.11 in liblist and metamod through autoexec. Everything loads fine and runs. Could not get bots to retaliate when attacked by teammate. Sorry just used that as an example. Had no idea that was a soon to be released feature.:D

Just noticed that when the bot skill is set to a low setting, the bots won't shoot back very often. You also have to have the "botaim" system turned on for it to work.

Bots set at medium skill (I blow at this game: explains the server part) Do you mean (m_botaimfix on)? Is there a more resent manual I should download? I think the manual I have may be missing some of the cvars.

My apologies botmiester. I have too much on the go. When I changed mEAn to run in liblist and load metamod back in another post, bots fired back and cursed. So all is fine. They actually get quite pissed.lol

Is this right?
I add the following line to my target line in my hlds shortcut or the one that is created when I install mean?
+localinfo mgamedll realbot/dll/realbot.dll +localinfo mbotmod realbot_ai

If you have the latest mEAn Should be: +localinfo mbotmod realbot_mm. Are you using realbot wip? If so that is a metamod plugin. +localinfo mgamedll addons/metamod/dlls/metamod.dll. mEAn has to be in the liblist file: gamedll "mean/mean_cs16.dll". Hope this helps

Well, since RB is messed because of the latest steam bs....uuu....I mean update, I will wait.
But just to be sure, I need to add +localinfo mgamedll addons/metamod/dlls/metamod.dll to the target line & gamedll "mean/mean_cs16.dll" to the liblist?
Yes I have the latest wip for now.
One other thing, do I add these to the mean ded server shortcut or my original ded server shortcut?
Reason I ask is because the mean shortcut is in the steam folder & my shortcut is in ded server folder in steam.

DreamLord34 I will do my best to help. I don't run through the target line. I created an autoexec file to handle the commands. That being said what you have looks correct. Use the ded server shortcut. Note: make sure in the liblist to comment out .dll referers and use only mEAn. eg: to .

Ok I added the +localinfo line to my shortcut & the gamedll line to but metamod didn't load, I did see the mean info tho about commands etc.
Trying the +localinfo in autoexec now.....
metamod doesn't load.
Put localinfo back in taget line, saw one small mean message that bots have joined & that's it.

Did you try and go back with brakkenjen's file. Server comes up that its out of date and no listing on master server but it works. Played with realbot wip8.5, which works great by the way and mEAn. 3hrs without even a hint of a crash.

To run both, add gamedll "mean\mean_cs16.dll" to your liblist.gam file & disable the metamod line if it's there.
Ad this line to your shortcut target line;
+localinfo mgamedll addons/metamod/dlls/metamod.dll
and all is well assuming you have metamod installed that is.
