i think splor u need to revert back (haven't tested dll b4 this either so maybe have to go back further?)...
this dll sucks for gameplay they can't aim at all and that shaking head in circles bussiness now happens alot and there isn't even a button on the map de_egypt o_O they can't even shoot each other even if thier in each others faces 8o even after 10\20 rounds the bots still act like noobs....that neva played b4 after a new vis table build an clean exp file thier pistol rounds suck ass sorry splorygon but i really think the bot went back to the stone age on this build:'( (14.07.2004) |

Actually KWo said this new one is really hard...
and when they get up close to each other it becomes a problem.. the math in the bot does something about shooting cone deviation which finds the direction the other player/bot is and sees if his gun is pointing at him... but when the bot is upclose to the thing he is trying to aim at it'll most likely say the bot is not looking at it and because of that the bot will not shoot... |

and if You, guys, report some bug - please - write exactly the version number. You can see it by typing in console:
meta list there should be something like "R2B31" I asked especially sPlOrYgOn to inculde this into dll. This can be more helpful because sometimes sPlOrYgOn uploads 2 times a day new dll, so is better for us to know which one exactly do You have. :) I want to create some thread like "Bot releases" with all beta and official notification, but because of some trouble I see, I even asked how to solve some problems at special moderators forum. |

both dll's (i had and sf's link) are the same
2 demo's cs1.6 see.dem == de_dust used R2 cfg's gumbydemo.dem ==de_egypt used my modified cfg's the both show the same thing |

I've just drew up a quick little stick figured pic of this close up problem..
http://www.mapzap.org/images/ShootingConeDeviation.png The 2 lines coming out of each of their heads are their Shooting Cone Deviation.. As you can see they can clearly see each other... but the red dot is their origin.. and that is what is used to check if he is aiming at the other bot or not.. and you can see in the pic.. the dot is not in their shooting cone deviation.. so right now they think they are not looking at each other.. their aiming will never make them look at each other's origin because these are skill 100 bots which aim for head.. |

shit sop lower the lower portion of the cone...and have them aim for the higher portion of the cone.......
and his problem is something totally different than this anyway......check that de_dust demo if you dont have egypt side j/k: for a second there i was thinking why did you make those chicks have breast cancer :) |

Sup all.
Sorry to say this but the latest Beta DLL 7/15/2005 11:28pm makes the bots too dang easy. I went 55-0 on de_aztec. Then went 43-3 on de_airstrip. Has the new BotAim code messed up the way they aim because they are still missing terribly up close and hit me harder at distances. Just my 2 cents. Nice work on the bot all. r2 b37 public still making me sick...now their croshair goes side to side ..at at least it's playble now but their aim was much better b4 the aim fix...
using lvl 99 bots cs1.6 map de_dust: bigger demo file coz it's harder to see ..since they die :P @splorygon the other demo better.dem is the dll u sent me |

Huntkillaz - I tested today latest dll on CS1.6 with bots (100). I don't have any problem with their aiming. Try to disable all other plugins and try again. Then report here if You still have this problem.
BTW: How many FPS do You have during the game? |

yea you can stop telling us to look at the demos because they all show the same stuff...
I wasn't able to test fps below 20fps because even if I put my fps_max below 20 it wouldn't go below 20.. so I just made a dll that should even work with people at 4fps.. I haven't tested this behavior below 20fps but I think it should work.. http://www.mapzap.org/files/podbot/podbotBETA.zip |

I did not see any difference from the old dll to this new one when used with Booster (very, very poor aim).

Can You try to setup this booster to fps_max as 100? If I remember You use 200, but probably 100 should be sufficient - if not - say us also.

I'm sorry... I found out that I forgot to replace something in the code for the pitch.. thats why the bots where only moving side to side too much..

After quite a while, I've finally had some time and motivation to test the latest dll (build 40) in game. I fired up a game on de_dust2 with 15 bots (skill between 60 and 99, random personality) and me. I played on the terrorist side, so I was in the "active" team and couldn't camp very much.
By spectating some bots in first person view, I noticed that the crosshair moves in a rather natural way now, not too jerky. In fact, I would only criticize that it often stays fixed on one spot a bit too long, especially when bots walk out of an open area and into a tunnel. They take too much time to switch back from their old perspective to look straight forward, towards where they are going. Besides, I sometimes had the impression that they are somehow locked to a certain viewing angle (or vector, whatever it is) when fighting an enemy. And when they move around, their crosshair doesn't move at all although they change their position. It is as if their neck was totally stiff, but the rest of their body was moving perfectly. Just a spontaneous impression, though. I played 12 rounds, and in the end I had a score of 27:7 - and I didn't use "heavy" weapons very much. I scored at least 6 or 7 kills with a Mac10, some more with an MP5 and with a "stolen" M4. I only bought the G3, SG552, Para, and AK once. Besides, I wouldn't cally myself an ace player. Back in the Steam age, when I went to a "normal" public server with 8 ppl in each team, I was usually fourth or fifth of my team, sometimes worse, almost never better. It wasn't boring or dull to play against these bots, but maybe still a bit too easy. But they are definitely seeing each other way better than before. They didn't just run past each other anymore. So you are definitely making progress with the code! However, in the long run, bots with high skill levels should be REALLY tough, I think. When I play against skill 80-100 bots, I would expect to have problems keeping up with the best bots as a not-so-perfect player, even on a map I know well. |

About this looking at somewhere (for example at the wall) during walking - I noticed many times. They remember last enemy direction and they don't like change the view perspective until "hearing" another enemy. This is stupid - because many times bot walking in back direction goes exactly to enemy and that one can kill it very easy. Especially if there is a skill (100). They try to shoot at head - so this bot walking back direction has no chance in this case - even if also has skill (100).
About testing skill - T Wrecks - try once again play 8 on 8 but only with bots skill (100) and then say us if this bot is too easy (all bots the same skill 100 in each team). This is more realistic test of bot's difficultity. |

The max skill level and differences between skills are another topics. sPlOrYgOn is still working to make stupid bots stupidier and hard bots harder...;)
The "realistic" - I though only corresponding to the test if the highest skill level bots are enough hard or not. Of course - during normal play You can see some people with different skill. And then You need more differences between bots. But even if after Your test with bots (100) You will be still at the top of the list (without using AWP or camping) - it will mean this bot is still too easy - and this info will be for sPlOrYgOn more helpful. That's why I asked You to test bots with skill (100). :) |

...and that's what I just did. I played 14 rounds (forgot to stop at 12), and I came out on top, but by a narrow margin this time. In the end, I had 19:5 kills, but I had more trouble to get to the first rank. So apparently there really is a change from 70-99 to 100, unless I just had an exceptionally good evening yesterday and a lousy day today... ;)
Anyway, since I am no pro, I would still say that the bot is too easy. Judging from the ranks I used to occupy when playing online, I would say that with skill 100 bots I ought to be on some middle - lower rank in the end, if that's possible. Just my personal opinion, though, and it's always difficult to find a balance between bots that behave halfways humanlike and bots that are just outrageously good, but very... well, "botty". :D |

OK - try once again with bots (100) and turn on the parameter in podbot.cfg - inhumanturns.
