3 Days Later... Where's the daily update?

It's not necessary, but it'd be nice to get the update which has the fixed buying issue. Having my bot drop his awp for an mp5 is rather annoying.

Hmm, I did read that.

Funny thing, dstruct2k, you are really good at not reading what I post.

If you really must have the latest version of a WORK IN PROGRESS, invest in a free compiler and a free CVS client.

Open source does not mean daily updates to downloads, and he just made a new version less than 24 hours ago, and probably has his own life. Give him a break and compile.

Even better, here's a compiled DLL for you, current as of the time of this post.

Re: 3 Days Later... Where's the daily update?

Very, very kind of you. But I do suggest you read. Less than 24 hours ago is more like 3 days.

I tried the CVS client, I couldn't login using the instructions provided at the wiki. Every time I entered a blank password and it would quit with error code 0. (It would stop logging in and nothing would happen)

Re: 3 Days Later... Where's the daily update?

yea thats just fine..
it always says that to me and I just grab the sources on there anyways..

Re: 3 Days Later... Where's the daily update?

No, it doesnt show any folders or 'sources' or files. Only my own hard drive stuff.

What client?

(PS -- That post I linked you to was made Today, 03:25am in my time zone)

Re: 3 Days Later... Where's the daily update?

i suppose you're using winCVS....
in that case goto Remote->Update Files
then click on the 3 dots to browse for something to download..
and it'll show you all the folders and files.
choose a folder and it'll put it in a textbox and click ok and it'll download all the files and the directory structure into your specified directory.

I'm talkin about main news page for Realbot, it says he's gonna update the download every day or so. But I ignored it cuz I didn't see much progress.

But today I saw that he fixed the buying system... so I was like: I need it noww!!!

I repeat:
What client? (CVS)

V or 'Tex 24-06-2004 10:03

Re: 3 Days Later... Where's the daily update?

It was WinCVS.

Edit:

Is there something rediculously wrong with the aiming system now? I just played a game and I pretty much had to hope the AI didnt get instant-headshot-madness on me. All of my XYZs on the bots are off by at least 4 or 5 units. But I got sniped by a GALIL across the map... I mean, he was tiny... and he got 3 hits on me!

It was like the recoil didn't apply, because I barely saw him and then BAM 3 shots fired from him and I was headshot'd.

dstruct2k 24-06-2004 19:06

Re: 3 Days Later... Where's the daily update?

Galil's have always been my favorite weapon for long range spray-and-pray headshots. :) (P90's are good for medium range, while deagles are for close)

Might just've been a good shot lol

But there have been some changes to the aiming, and the distance-of-fuzzyness has been incresed, so they aim better at farther distances.

As for WinCVS, I've never used it, but TortiseCVS works awesome. :)

Re: 3 Days Later... Where's the daily update?

Well that fuzzyness range... daaaamn.

Over 50% of my bots get headshots now. I like it.

Re: 3 Days Later... Where's the daily update?

VoT: You're wierd. :P

I personally want to make them human... Not superhuman.

V or 'Tex 24-06-2004 23:24

Re: 3 Days Later... Where's the daily update?

I'm still 2 to 1 against them.

Much better than 5 to 1.

Now the game is actually tense because walking around without being sneaky and/or trigger happy is a sure way to get your head blown off in .05 seconds.

Re: 3 Days Later... Where's the daily update?

They have no hearing code...

V or 'Tex 25-06-2004 08:40

Re: 3 Days Later... Where's the daily update?

I'm pretty sure they have heard me walking around in the past. I've walked behind Ts and have had them whip 180s and blow my head off just as I took aim.

That's another thing... Realbot is not in any way limiting the vision of these guys. They somehow see through walls right at you if they hear you once. If they hear you, see you, or you shoot at them, they know where you are. They hunt you down with their jumping AK headshots of painful doom.

Re: 3 Days Later... Where's the daily update?

erm, well it depends. If you have skill 0 , you ASK for this behaviour. SKILL 0 means 'they know where you are, they shoot ur head, you are not safe'..

Simple as that. Try playing on skill 10 ;)

Be sure that you override YOUR setting with the personality setting, there is a realbot command for that.

Re: 3 Days Later... Where's the daily update?

I have uploaded a new DLL to the filebase.

Re: 3 Days Later... Where's the daily update?

Could someone please compile a new WIP for windows? It's been a while since the last one now.
Sadly I don't know how to do it myself :-/
