Cant install E[POD]Bot
 

Lo all.

I would like to set up E[POD]Bot on my CS 1.6 install, (not HLDS).
I hve tried installing the my@email.com, counter-strike, and cstrike folders, but when i make a server, P or podbotmenu just brings up 'unknown command 'podbotmenu'.

try installing it again, and make sure the liblist.gam is read only. STEAM has a tendency to overwrite the liblist.gam when it is not matching 'its original', therefor disabeling bot support.

to make readonly:
right-click on liblist.gam, click -> properties ,in window, check "READ ONLY".

Which folder do i install to? This mod seems quite underdocumented;)

I suppose you install it like podbot, i.e. in the same folder where the liblist.gam file is.

i got it to install correctly to 1.6. but it says every time i load a server (lan) it says cs_assault.pwf does not exist! you cant add bots! as well for any other map i load... can someone explain this to me or how to fix this..?

the modes work.. knife mode.. etc. but i cant add bots due to the missing pwf... but its there becuz it comes with the bots..

curious indeed... the PWF files need to be in the maps folder, which is supposed to be aside the podbot folder. If this folder doesn't exist, try creating it and put your .pwf files in it.

hmmm did that and the message still comes up.. but every else works... knife mode everything works. but the waypoints just arent loading it says every time cs_ or de_ pwf does not exist.

OK i've installed it properly now, but when I make my own server I get the 'HL.exe has encountered a problemo etc etc...' when I get to my motd.

I have had this error before but now like this :'(

Try deleting the pxp file for the map you are loading and try again.
The pxp files are created automatically for each map and they are find in the same folder as the pwf.

So for example if you are trying to load de_dust go to the folder that has your waypoint files and delete the file de_dust.pxp

There arn't any pxp's, so podbot cant of loaded very far :/

install it here and it will work. waypoints load. im currently testing to see if bots will add without crashing hl or any other problem..

encountered a problem.. after installing it, reads waypoints everything working fine.. i try to add a bot and cs completely freezes.. it doesnt crash it just freezes.

I just tried to install it on the laptop (fresh cs install), and although it doesent crash, nothing happens :(:'(:(:'(

do you see the welcome message ? do you see some lines in the console that attest that the bot DLL is loaded ? if you don't see any of them, then it means that the bot DLL is not loaded at all. In this case, either you installed it in the wrong directory, or you edited the liblist.gam file incorrectly.

oh i see everything. waypoints created by whoever made them and on the top of the screen it says [E]PODbot by lightninja. so its loading correctly just that when i try to add a bot, cs freezes. is it maybe that this isnt compatible with 1.6?

E[POD] is not yet 1.6 ready, it will freeze as soon as you add a bot.

this bot doesn't work with my cs 1.5 :(

i've installed the bot exactly like the podbot, but when i start a lan game cs crashes back to my desk without any error msg

any solution ?

ok, i just figured it out, the problem was my own epbwpns.cfg which doesn't work :( ( it works with podbot 2.5 )

so could anyone write me a working one with these properties:

bot should only use following weapons:
- usp/deagle
- mp5
- ak47/m4a1
- aug/sig
- awp/scout

ok, i got the most by myself, but the t's won't buy the god damn usp in the first round :/ the just buy ammo for their glock :/

E[POD]bot has not been updated for months and his author disappeared a long time ago. You might want to use a better bot instead, such as POD-bot 2.6mm by sPlOrYgOn.

Yes, sadly E[POD]bot isin't CS v1.6 compatible... You'll need a diff bot. Use either the one PM mentioned, or IvPbot. I say those 2 are the best for now.

As for the dissappearance of LN? yeah, he hasn't contacted me either... So I'm guessin' he's far too busy right now to code a bot.

Yeah, I remember seeing a mod by whistler that made most PODbots compabitle with CS v1.6... try to find it if you can. :)
