Ok, here's a list of 50 quite recent maps (mid-2003 to now) I would like to release PODBot 2.6mm waypoints for. Many of these maps have never been decently waypointed anyway, so this could be quite a useful release. I have already waypointed some of them, so I post the entire list here for you, biohazerd. This way you can see which ones are left to do. We then need to agree on who waypoints which maps... ok, here we go:

That's not entirely true. I already waypointed de_museum for the 1st custom map WP pack I made together with SoUlFaThEr. Or, to be accurate, Austin once requested it, I made it for him and later included it in said WP pack.
Hehe, I even found the little show-off pic I sent to Austin to demonstrate what I mean when I say "thorough waypointing"... :D Take a looky if you like... Cool - now we got a sh*tload of waypoints coming out soon... 8D Of course, if I'm convinced that your stuff is real high-quality, we could also do a second custom WP pack with three (counting your brother, even four) waypointers... =) However, I think it will clutter up this thread if we cross-post every step of progress for each of the packs all here. Can we reserve this thread here for the 50 "new" custom maps I listed? Instead, there are 2 options I consider less confusing: Either you could join us in waypointing the other pack, which is still open to lots of suggestions (you can find the thread here: http://forums.bots-united.com/showthread.php?t=1764 ). Or you could just open your own thread. As I said, if I'm convinced that your stuff is more or less 85 - 90% SoUlFaThEr quality (if not better, but that's much to ask), I'd really like to have you with us - if you want, that is. :) I think I haven't seen a fully tweaked, checked & completed WP set from you yet, that's why I'm not sure... Whatever you decide, it's good to have waypoints coming in, preferably top shelf stuff that takes full advantage of that kick-ass waypoint editor! And it's good that we seem to avoid too much double waypointing and work organized instead... Well, keep 'em coming! :) |

I think I'll focus on de_struction, de_toltec and de_trome first. As soon as we have these maps waypointed, we post that they are ready and pick new ones - so that the other one can see he should take other maps. Damn, you're quick! ;) |

I just had a look at the WPs for de_batcave...
2. Did you use lift flags? I didn't have time to play around with waypointing the lift and testing in game... However, I remember I had a PB 2.5 waypoint where that lift was waypointed without lift flags or anything, and it didn't make too much trouble. If nothing works well, the lift can be left out, I think. It's not THAT important. 3. Ledges? Do you mean those bridges in the bat hangar? Well, these clearly have WPs with too big radii on them. I didn't see any narrow ledges that could cause problems, though. And in general, bots don't fall off ledges, unless they are engaged in combat or trying to go around corners on the ledge. 4. ???:( I have played this map with friends for some times, and all breakables I noticed are the wooden boards covering the cave entrance and those little "danger - keep off" signs at T spawn... 5. Yeah, that can be tricky. For bots to shoot such a breakable, the connection must go right through it. When you make normal (standing) WPs, the connection DOES go through one of the breakables, so the bots shoot that one. However, since the waypoints are standing WPs, the bots won't crouch and get stuck. If you make crouch WPs, the connection will go under the breakables, so bots won't shoot it and get stuck. The trick is to make both the WP in front of the entrance and the one behind it crouch WPs, at the same time forcing the connection between them to go through a breakable. Make the WP behind the entrance a standing WP, connect it with the crouch WP in front of the entrance and THEN add a crouch flag - this will cause your former standing WP to float a bit in the air, but this is no problem. I've attached the fixed WPs for that spot - try it out. On my PC, bots navigate this spot perfectly. |

Anyway, some news: de_struction is waypointed de_toltec is waypointed de_trome is ~ 75% completed. I'm gonna take care of cs_caution_b5 cs_hispanic de_comicpirates de_marrakech (i.e. the ones that only need to be fixed, updated & tweaked) next. |

Dang, I just wanted to upload the latest ZIP, but first I was greeted with an error, and then my browser crahed. If I could send you an e-mail via BU, communication would be a lot easier, too... :D Seriously, I don't think we need to be in permanent contact because waypoints are something you can make on your own without problems. And in order to post progress / problems / questions once in a while, this forum, the PM system and e-mail is sufficient, I think. I mean, what's the difference between going online twice a day and fetch your mails and going online twice a day and see if someone on AIM or ICQ or whatever has something to say? Could you PM me your mail addy so I can send you stuff without having to post it publicly? |

Ok I fixed up WP for de_builder_yard and for de_batcave which i will e-mail you. I just got ahold of de_mog and I will start that map to.
de_ark is about 80% done. It is just shitty tho so I am going back over it to clean it up. And waste facility is about 95% done a few spots here and there but i e-mailed you about the button problem. |

Ok, now let's see: AFAIR, you wanted to make WPs for: de_ark de_artmuseum da_batcave (fixed) de_builder_yard (fixed) de_mog de_odile de_wastefacility (almost done except for those buttons) de_shooting fy_ruins If you feel that's a bit too much, just say so. The only WPs in this pack left for me to make are: de_aztec_ruins (60% done) de_marrakech (only needs new camp flags and some minor adjustments) de_pipeline de_priory de_san_coiba es_san_coiba Ok, does this sound like a reasonable distribution to you or would you like to change anything? If so, please tell me today because there aren't that many maps left. |

No problem, I can do some more. I now realise that I totally forgot about de_aztec_ruins, but I finished de_marrakech and de_san_coiba. Just tell me which maps you would drop. It would be best if you chose maps
- where you didn't start waypointing yet - where you feel you don't like the map at all - where you think you have too many problems so that no good work is lost... Well, no need to rush that decision. With 3 1/2 maps to waypoint from scratch and test in game, I reckon I'll have enough to do for the weekend. ;) |

Indeed, work is still in full progress. Meanwhile I got de_aztec_ruins and es_san_coiba finished. How about de_wastefacility? I got the version without doors, so I reckon it makes some sense that I waypoint that one? I'm gonna finish the other ones first, though, i.e. de_pipeline and de_priory. |

There hasn't been much progress lately - biohazerd was on vacation, and I just didn't have time. Meanwhile, I got de_pipeline finished. I lost half of the stuff I did in de_priory, so I gotta start that one again. Oh, and I started de_mog - it's about 75% done. biohazerd, maps still left are: [de_ark] Were your WPs final? de_artmuseum de_shooting fy_ruins Maps I still got to waypoint are: de_mog (~25% left) de_priory (~50% left) de_wastefacility |

Well, today I... - tested my WPs for de_pipeline, and they are quite good. - finished waypointing de_mog - got some more tests to perform and 1 bug to fix, though. - finished waypointing de_wastefacility. This leaves me with some tests for de_mog and the last half of de_priory. Phew, that's about 43 maps! Oh, and you just take your time, ok? Whatever you do, don't rush it. I might do some more maps and replace cs_ark and cs_bbicotka with them if the new button code doesn't work significantly better. Tomorrow I'm going to send you a mail with some screenies concerning de_odile... you fixed most of the errors, but there are approx. 5 bugs left that affect gameplay - which means that they should really be fixed before we release the pack. ;) |

How about this: I start with de_chemise and when I'm finished, we'll see how you advanced with the other maps - if you need some more time, I can do colonial, too. The last half of de_priory is all that's left for me to do for this pack. almost finished fy_ruins and I didn't rush it's just really small. Some parts are not very bot compatible but I am pretty good at these types of maps.

Sorry I haven't gotten to talk to you but I sufferd a huge computer lose. One of my 120 GIG HD's went out and lost about half the data. I got most of my CS stuff off including to waypoints. I have been overly busy with work and I just changed a whole bussiness over to new computers, altho it was good pay dealing with the people trying to get documents from old computers to new wasn't easy, sorry to you T Wrecks mostly and to everyone else waiting for this waypoint pack. I will get back to the waypoint ASAP, it will be worth the wait once this waypoint pack is complete!

Ok, in the meantime I can work for the other WP pack and maybe have a look at the final version of de_wastefacility. Now that the button code is so much better than it used to be, I think we can include the version with buttons. Can you give me a short overview about which maps are still left to do and which ones are completed? Anyway, I'm so glad to hear from you! I was about to send a mail to you to ask what has happened... :| Well, you just take care of your PC and of all important things right now. And waypoints are not what I'd call important. If you have a map too much left to do, just tell me. I'm quite active at the moment and finished 3 maps today... :D |

I have your WP for de_artmuseum. Somehow I forgot it, that's why I never told you anything about it. It's basically ok; there's just one point where a connection goes through a door when this door is open. It's at that elevated gallery at the bombspot with the two huge sculptures. And there's a staircase at the bottom of which there's an unwaypointed area (although this would be a nice place to camp, hehe). Tell me if you wanna fix it up yourself or if you prefer if I make a quick fix (keeping your name on the WP set, of course ;) )

I would just go ahead and let you do it casue it isn't worth Zipping then e-mailing it to me then unzipping it then fixing it then zipping it and sending it back lol, and the other thing is in all honesty I could care less weather my name is on it or not, I mean not to be rude your offer was fine with me but I am doing this for other people you know, not to let other people know I did it... that make sense?o_O

That does make sense... but I just can't fix 2 connections of a WP set somebody else did and then write my name all over it... it doesn't matter if the person in question cares or not - it's just not right. Gee, does that make sense to anyone but myself? :D
Anyways, so I'm gonna fix de_artmuseum. You're going to complete de_odile. You said you had finished fy_ruins. de_batcave was finished, too. This only leaves de_shooting, right? |
