Normal or camping WP?
1 Attachment(s)
Sometimes on some map (if waypoint editor is on) I can see at normal WP the line red exactly the same like this starting/ending direction on cap waypoint. See the attachement (inside white polygon) and maybe somebody can say what is this? For sure this is not a jumping waypoint - see flags.
You can look this example on You computer - map de_dust2 SF's pwf file from the last release. For this suffiscient is use teleport to this waypoint (index 124). |
Re: Normal or camping WP?
No, this red line is larger and darker than a camp waypoint. It is, in fact, the danger direction that the bots have learned about this waypoint. There's nothing wrong. When the bots will pass here, they will be careful about the waypoints that are showed in the direction of this big red line, because some of them already have been killed here. If you edit the waypoints, the visibility table and experience files will be reset, and this line will disappear.

Re: Normal or camping WP?
there's no point in showing while you're editing.
because as soon as you save and addbots to start playing, the .pxp and .pvi files will be deleted and those lines will disappear anyways. |
Re: Normal or camping WP?
i was thinking more of a see where bots think danger is, just for info on thier point of veiw on the map.....i mean sure i could spectate but it wpould be nicer to see what's thier point of veiw of critical pts

so could this be a bug? |
Re: Normal or camping WP?
A bug? Well possible. But linked to the danger indicator bars? Naah, I don't think so.
Besides, let me take KWo's role now by suggesting that this bug be posted in a new thread, 'cuz that's where it belongs IMHO... ;) |
Re: Normal or camping WP?
another possible bug?
when u change a wp to a camp using the flag shouldn't it ask u set start n end also does changing the colour of the wp affect the bot's (ie do they interpret the colour?) if not can we change the goal to a deep purple so noobs avoid confusion between it and the ladder although it's very difficult too get confused. |
Re: Normal or camping WP?
I like anything that has to do with Deep Purple, *LOL* Would love to see bots throw "SG on the water - and HE in the sky"... :D Hm... come to think of it, that's what they are likely to do with the current grenade code, anyway :P Oooh, I think I spent too much time in the sun today.
Ok, seriously: a) I don't think it's the colours that affect bots, it's the flags. So a colour change ought to be no problem. b) Well, they ARE difficult to mix up... unless you hit the wrong key when waypointing and acidentally place a ladder WP at a bomb site - or vice versa. Concerning the other thingy (changing WPs to camp by menu): => new thread in Bug Report section, please! ;) |
Re: Normal or camping WP?
actually their sg throwing code is fine..
and yes the colors can be changed easily just look in WaypointThink() doesn't it give an error about no camp end or start if you try to save? |
Re: Normal or camping WP?
Yes, a missing camp start / end waypoint WILL result in an error message when trying to save - but that was not the point. The point was that when you turn a normal WP into a camp WP by using the menu (Add flag - camp) you aren't prompted for start / end position. And as soon as you go to the spot and add a camp start, a new WP will be added on the same spot.
I haven't tested and verified this myself so far, but I think that's what he meant. |
