here's what i came up with so far this morning.. hope u guys like it :)

i was thinkin we link the old docs (this could be set put up as a webpage online as well)
and tell em what happen after CF's 2.5 in the intro of the new one...

note:forgot to add link for bot in menu

so basically intro faq n version history will be what they r..

The Bot: will be about the bot n bot's commands
wp basic == basics of wp101
wp advanced == Advanced techniques..tips n trick of the skilled master :P (includes scripts)

Cf's ones will also be included (may re do em for clarity) (ie seperate the bot n iwaypoints but keep em as the original)

will come as a metamod pack (statsme too?)



the side menu will neva go..and the top logo to...the main is the only place tha will change depending on what the user clicks...

so how about it guys?

Well, we can always argue about the layout once the content is there - as long as the document structure is ok, it's no big deal to change the look of menu buttons and things like background / font colour.
And yes, we will need new screenshots- partly to demonstrate some of the new features, partly to show the new (visible) flags, and I'll also make some new ones for the "common errors" section because I might add one or two points there.
Huntkillaz, get ACDSee (you might be able to get an older version, like 2.xx or maybe even 3.xx, totally legal and for free - it's a great tool for viewing and archiving image collections, and you can easily read TGAs with it and convert them to JPG (adjustable settings). Once you've found a good setting, you can even easily batch convert a whole bunch of files, and there's also a very neat batch rename function.
However, IMHO Photoshop would be the best choice to create all necessary images - it allows for the best tweaking to ptimal size / quality / web compatibility. The logo, for example: I suppose it's a JPG right now - an 8-Bit PNG reduced to no more than those colours that are actually needed could result in a crisper but yet smaller image... The same applies if we want to make close-up screenshots of the bot menu or waypointing menu instead of writing that stuff down... whenever there's something written in an image, JPG is not the ideal choice - some GIF or PNG formats are usually better for that purpose.

replace the old bot banner with a slighly more 21st century or beyond one..

i think 400(across)x150(down) pixels looks nice....

okay soulfather i'm giving u a bigger job...okay know how cf has his way point pictures...well i want u to redo em get clear ones like his first one(of a normal waypoint).maps like de-dust would be good i guess for this.

we need 2 of em 'how to do' n 'how not to'

these will replace cf's current ones along with the nice new looking (much clearer for noobies) docs

seperate the old n new ones so i know which one goes to the old pb readme n which goes to the new one (we could reuse some of them)

also may some screen shots of the command menu's of podbot n wp menu

n maybe stuff like noclip,peace mode,debuggoal n stuff...

same size as cf's one would be alright change it slightly if u want n try get the hi-res without going over 15\20kb? would be nice...

i'll upload the beta html file once i finish it (hopefully tonite if not definatley by 2 morrow nite):) so u can have a look to know what to do.

Here are two bits of the documentation I volunteered to contribute:

The 1st one is a basic explanation for n00bs about what wayoints actually are, what they do and what they look like.
I thought the description of the WP editor commands, menus and features would follow - of course, it remains to be seen how we create a seamless connection between these two parts.
The 2nd one is an updated version of the "common waypointing errors" section; it incorporates some errors that were missing IMHO and adds some more detailed explanation. It's planned to go with demo screenies in the final version, but we first have to agree on a format / max. size before I can start making them.

Both documents are just plain, boring Times New Roman text HTML without any sexy formatting thingies or elaborate styles... it's just so that you can have a look at it, spot the 5000 typos, tell me where I'm totally unintelligible in my explanations and stuff...
