RealBots killing themselves

Hello,

I'm running a halflife dedicated server (linux, public) with the CS mod 1.6 (Steam).

I've installed metamod and realbot working great. But there is one confusing thing:

While playing on that server there are realbots coming filling up all the available slots. That's ok and I am able to play with them. When no more slot is available, all the realbots are killing themselves when a new round starts, permanently. Like they all want to change their team. I only can restart the server, but then the procedure restarts, too.

Does anyone have any experience with that? I really like the behaviour of the realbot, so I want to solve that problem.

For the current WIP 3009, make sure that internet mode is turned OFF. This could be one cause of this problem. This bug (internet mode) will be fixed in the next Work In Progress(WIP) Hope this helps.

yes the RealBot WIP #9 has a bug in the internet code. Believe it or not, in WIP #10 they wont fill up the server, but eventually leave and no-one returns! lol. So i have to fix that too.

Re: RealBots killing themselves

You both are the developers of the RealBot?

You've done good work. The RealBot's behaviour is realistic on the first look. I've tried many other bots with my server, but none of them are comparable with your work.

The internet mode is disabled by default, isn't it?

What about the commands I can use to controll the bots...
Do they all have to be typed with underlines between the elements (command, parameters) or only the ones that are written with underlines in the documentation?

There's is another "bug" with the output on the console while running the hlds with realbot:

After I set the value for some options (for example the maximum round count) there's a permanent output like (symbolic) "Option set to <round count>" every second. So while debugging the installation this is horribly bothering :)

Thanks for help :)

sup yall,

yes i also have the problem of bots killing themselves. the round starts off and i add a few bots in. everything works fine for about 5-10 mins, then the bots stop moving. the next round, all of them kill themselves continually the exact second the new round starts. it pisses me off so much. i have 2 exit completely out of steam, the deactivate and rectivte them to get them to work again....for about another 5-10 mins. why is this happening? i dont have internet mode on either. i either add them in through the console or the bot menu. can you help me? thanks.

Eskimo, have you read this thread
http://forums.bots-united.com/showthread.php?t=1366

there are some tips in there re suiciding bots after a certain numer of rounds. I have linux server also, Mandrake 10 and I've tried Redhat 9 and it's all working ok.

I think the realfix is only for those peeps who did not take the latest WIP 3005

hey,

ya i figured it out. if you go to whistler's site (http://yapb.yeah.net ), and install the realfix that he made, everything fixes itself. i think you only have the suicidal bot problem if u run CS through steam 1.6. everythings works great now tho!

P.S.- once u get to the site, click the d/l link at the top, then the 5th download link. that is the realfix download. have fun!
