A question of Avatars

How do we select avatars -I notice the council members already have them, so there is obviosly a way, but we are unable to select them atm.

In the profile, all we can do is select "no avatars".

Re: A question of Avatars

you have to upload YOUR avatar... there is no pre-selectable avatar in the forums, that's all :)

Re: A question of Avatars

when i try to change it

the little dot thingy that says
"Reset Avatars" is plugged in and i cannot check it off

Re: A question of Avatars

Don't we need at least like 25 posts or something to upload it?

Pierre-Marie Baty 01-01-2004 23:48

Re: A question of Avatars

aaah yes, that must be it. I recall something similar when I first wanted to upload mine. I'll go and have a look around to see if I can change this setting.

Re: A question of Avatars

well, that isnt bad this option I think ... so we get rid of all the avatars some users are uploading and never again visiting the forums, or posting very few times. and 25 posts isnt that much ...

Pierre-Marie Baty 01-01-2004 23:59

Re: A question of Avatars

[edit]
you're right - let's keep this setting after all :)

Re: A question of Avatars

I think it's just more than 1 post. At least this is my fourth, I think, and I already have an avatar. I still have to find a good quote for the sig, though...

Karaya. Look up "Erich Hartmann". ;)

If it weren't for my eyesight, I'd be in the RAF. Wanted to be a pilot all my life, and I'd be damned if anything would stop me.9_9

Re: A question of Avatars

Adrian, did you notice there is a typo in your sig ?
from the Opposing Force titles.txt:
Quote:

CR28
{
SUBJECT :
Adrian Shephard
Male, 22
}
You spelled it "Shepard" ;)

Leagle 05-01-2004 23:56

Re: A question of Avatars

That is how it is spelt Pierre. Like Coward and Cowherd, words get bastardised. While shephard is how it is spelt usually, shepard without the h is a throwback to the days before spelling had a common standard. People don't go around changing their names because their friends said "you're spelling it wrong".;)

In other words, his namesake, the Opfor char spells his name "Shepard".

[edit] What the *()$*()@$%W%(!!???? I could have sworn my game spelt it without the h, but I just checked the model viewer and the model is called "shephard".

I could have sworn, because I remember making a similar point before...???:(

Re: A question of Avatars

see, I told you ;)
I *did* look in the Opposing Force files because I was pretty sure it was with a h :D
hehehe I know some guy who'll need to redo his sig :P

TruB 06-01-2004 00:57

/me starts running...

*edit* please download the image to your computer and upload it to your own website, instead of using it straight out from my website (anyway I'll remove it soon)... thanks! :)
and BTW the correct syntax is [*IMG*]*http://youraddress.com/yourimage.gif*[*/IMG*] (remove the *'s to get it to work)

Re: A question of Avatars

I *REALLY DID* use mspaint... download his sig, open it and zoom on the picture, you'll see.

I also did the Bots United logo with mspaint too. And all the smilies (except the animated ones, although each of their frames actually have been done with mspaint too)

I do *ALL* my gfx with mspaint, and I challenge anybody on this forum to do better than me 8)
