TF2 is COMING SOON (again.)

In case someone here hasn't heard, Valve is claiming again that TF2 is coming soon.

They say it'll be released with the second HL2 expansion pack, "Episode 2".

New character designs look like their out of some bad 60s spy movie, really reminds me of "Evil Genius". I can live with the new character designs I guess. TF2 really doesn't seem very interesting anymore. Pretty much all the great things that were going to be in 6 years ago have been done already (such as drivable vehicles).

Much improved graphics was one of the other exciting things about TF2, but now that also isn't anything special. Valve delayed TF2 so much that everything that made it special has already been done to death by other developers.

Also is it just me, or is this new fad of "episodic gaming" incredibly stupid?

I think yes , that to much game episodes render the game stupid!
it would be better to invest time in totally new games/mods , like eternal silence or Zombie master:)

Yep, but Valve would rather re-hash old games and makes new expansion levels to HL2 SP.

TF is a game that almost everyone enjoyed. I used to run a clan for tfc, for 4 years. It died a year back but some of the fun times will always be remembered. Making it into source allowes some of us to re live all of it again, but in a different way.

Speaking of the old times
I honestly enjoyed The original Half-Life Single Player scenario !
not only because I like Sci-fi , but because the plot started from a relatively realistic point , which is in some way related to nowadays political and technological standards (except the teleportation thing of course).
It all started when some scientist dude(freeman) was brought to a Top secret US a military base in the middle of Nowhere , which coincidently reminds you of Area 51(LOL).........
I think that was the most important thing about HL , The Story !! ......rather than just being another kick-ass graphic shooting game , HL combined Political Conspiracy theories with (till that time) Un-seen Suspence-inducing cinematic gameplay and of course mixed all together with a huge load of Sci-Fi Actionw00t

That was/Is the receipt for Success!:)

Yes it was weird indeed:)
I think it would be better , if it was a zero gravity environment where you could float around , since it appeard to be a very small planet or some sort of asteroid..

I enjoyed Xen. I played the game through last month and it didn't give me any trouble, except for the powerstation bit, where I just totally missed something.

I see they did away with the "soldier" models as well. I was just thinking about TF2 and came to the same conclusion as the rest of you - if it was released now it would not have the same impact. (Lo and behold, I find that they are releasing it.)
