Re: PODbot not working.
I know what your error might be:
Error:Failed to load dialog file Resource/UI/ClassMenu.res Function trace: CGameUI::Start CGameUI::Initialize CFileSystem_Steam::Mount() Currently ever since I uninstalled everything today trying to install 1.5, and I installed cs1.6 again, and did podbot thing and clanmod and thats the error I'm getting, and its nothing related to PodBot MM at all, its a missing source code in your counter-strike.gcf File. Somebody figured out how to get rid of the error, but they were jerks and didn't publicly post it for everyone. |
Re: PODbot not working.
The only effective method to fix it I know is... reinstall the steam.

Re: PODbot not working.
Actually all I did was use GCF Editor extract the classmenu.res from Teamfortress I stuffed it in the steam/resource/ui/ folder then I deleted Local Files, then I deleted The Entire Counter-strike Folder then reinstalled everything for counter-strike. Works for me now.

Re: PODbot not working.
To me, I don't think that even affects anything in the game or how its run. I've had that error for the longest time every time I reinstall or install again. I already found the solution to it, just googled it. :)

Re: PODbot not working.
Ok, it seems that even with the Dedicated Server files installed, I still cannot start a LAN game with PODBot in it. I'm just going to stop trying to get it running with 1.6 and bring a copy of my 1.5 from work. Thanks again.

Re: PODbot not working.
According to which kind of server You want to start (dedicated - standalone PC - or listenserver - You are playing from it by starting and creating the game), You need to work on such folders:
a) for dedicated server- ...\Steam\steamApps\your@email\dedicated server\cstrike and here You need to find liblist.gam and replace the line with: gamedll "dlls\mp.dll" by this one gamedll "addons\metamod\dlls\metamod.dll" Note don't use semicolon (";") to comment out anything here. To comment out something (if need) just use "#" (without quotes). ...\Steam\steamApps\your@email\dedicated server\cstrike\addons and here need to be placed 2 folders - metamod and podbot b) for listenserver - ...\Steam\steamApps\your@email\counter-strike\cstrike and here You need to find liblist.gam and replace the line with: gamedll "dlls\mp.dll" by this one gamedll "addons\metamod\dlls\metamod.dll" (with notes as above) ...\Steam\steamApps\your@email\counter-strike\cstrike\addons and here need to be placed 2 folders - metamod and podbot Note -after steam reinstall Your liblist.gam may be overwritten by it, so - even if it was working for You before, it may stop after reinstall. Just need to do re-edit it again (as explained above). Hint: And upgrade Your metamod to 1.18 version. |
Re: PODbot not working.
Yep, I did all of that prior to my previous post. :D
That's why I decided to use CS 1.5 instead. When trying the listenserver, it kicks me out to Windows. And when trying the dedicated server, it complains about some DLL issue not even related to PODBot. :cursing: :D |
Re: PODbot not working.
You can use cs 1.5 in steam rename
Install cstrike 1.5, rename the cstrike folder to csv15 and then put the csv15 folder in the /steamapps/username/half-life folder as a third party game etc... and then start playing cstrike 1.5, but first install the bot I used allinone 2.5 and then added clanmod etc... works great try it out. I perfer 1.5 over 1.6 anyday. |
