btw. i did create the user name again (exectly the same as it was) , perhaps thats why.

I can almost guarantee that's what it was
you should have used -login instead of -create

I did that first, woud'nt work but mabye i made a typo
but then again why the password, and why verify it IF steam ask for it.

I can't even use the hldsupdatetool nor the easyupdatetool.exe by kaoticelites.

Actually, it's working now. It was giving me a system error but I had just finished doing a windows update but hadn't restarted due to a download I was doing so that might have caused it.
How long did it take to update your servers using the update tool?
Mine's hanging on Verifying: D:\hlserver2\platform\Admin\DialogAddBan.res

Anyone know what this warning means;
WARNING! Using deprecated syntax! Run tool without commands to see new syntax?

yea yea,
hanging due to high traffic!
i saw steam was over their own set bandwidth limit of 4Mbps, cannot stay connected to valve content servers!

you must type "hldsupdatetool.exe" to see the new syntax...

I use the easyhldsupdatetool.exe which is a heckuva lot easier then typing out hldsupdatetool.exe -update cstrike etc each time.
