No - It means You need to follow again that topic I've showed You but only the part for Windows (skip all info I wrote there for linux).
You need to install "normal" metamod.dll and get Podbot mm fullpack R2B46c from filebase, as it's mentioned in that topic.

right done that but game crashes when i try to start one :s i get a error log:

"Error:Failed to load dialog file Resource/UI/ClassMenu.res

Show us Your plugins.ini file from metamod directory. Check the version of Your metmod.dll (click right button of mouse and look at the version number of the file metamod.dlll You are using).

You are trying to start the game CS1.6 Steam, right? Are You sure Your Steam is correctly installed (I hope You didn't try to install any linux version or something). You told something about headshot mod (but I guess You want to install it later - I didn't see the call for it - it's OK).
Does Your CS start without metamod (I mean with a call in liblist.gam for standard mp.dll file)?

yeah i have CS1.6 etc. correctly installed, this happened before witht he error log so i've reinstalled CS/Steam a few times before hand. i deleted headshot mod.dll cause i figured if i just get metamod working first then i can go from there. so i guess my steam is buggered :@ :[ although earlier today my friend installed PODbot +metamod +headshot mod with no problems, he even made me a ZIP to extract into my Cstrike, his works fine :/ i think it may be do with my PC being AMD64 i dunno. any views?

my cs works fine without metamod, plus joebot (I have joebot without metamod, that works fine)

Do You have any file in ..\cstrike called autoexec.cfg ? If so - post also its contents here.
Show us also Your CS launch options (fire-up Steam, Click "Play games", then right button mouse click on "Counter-Strike" and then - at the window You will see - in the middle of it - there is a button "Launch option" - click it and show us the contents of it.
Make sure in the liblis.gam now You have the call for metamod like this

gamedll "addons\metamod\dlls\metamod.dll"
and without gamedll "dlls\mp.dll"
and You really have the file metamod.dll in ...cstrike\addons\metamod\dlls directory.

The first line You have in liblist gam - it's a typo only or You really have a quote (") at beginning of the line
"game "Counter-Strike"
(I mean the quote before 'game')
