Re: HL2 plugin Weapon support
Thanks man.
Alternatively, I'm kindof anticipating being ignored by valve, so I've started working on a custom interface that should be as easy as dropping in 2-3 files to a mod and compiling, and then all the information bots need would be exposed(read only) to plugins. It's not ideal to having it built in to begin with but given the easy nature of letting mods drop in the files, compile, and not have to worry about it anymore, I don't think most mods would have a problem with doing so if it meant they could potentially get fully featured free bot support by third party developers. As it is now, even if they were to release an updated SDK with these changes, it would be up to the mods themselves to merge such changes, so I don't see alot of differences, except in the case of Valve mods like CS:S, DOD, where it would require valve to compile the interface into them as well, which would be quite trivial. Maybe they would, I don't know. I'll try to find out though. |

Re: HL2 plugin Weapon support
I find it wierd that Valve arent willing to listen to you and help you. All the times I have mailed them silly questions I have received answers. Talk to Alfred or Yahn, they are nice.

Re: HL2 plugin Weapon support
Very disappointing. As always when we introduce this subject, the mailing list remains hauntingly silent.
I would so like an official reaction. A roger that, a no can do, anything, but a reaction :( |
Re: HL2 plugin Weapon support
yea, if you guys want to help me build a nice interface with everything we need I will then bug them again when it's done to possibly include it. might get a better reaction if something is actually coded and working.
Anyone got any ideas why my custom interface isn't working? http://forums.bots-united.com/showthread.php?t=4061 |
Re: HL2 plugin Weapon support
Alright.
Let me some time to do the same thing myself... *edit* I've got the PMTools2 plugin to finish, so probably not this week/. |
