it's a bug in PHP..
so any server with an old php version installed can be exploited I guess...

NEWS ABOUT THE OFFICAL WAYPOINTS UNITED SITE
Last Tuesday ( 12/19 ) our host fell subject to a menacing worm. Known as NeverEverNoSanity, which is a worm that infiltrates into old PHPbb2 boards. Some how the worm was let loose in the server and got to everyone. For some reason the host thought it would be an inginious idea to format the servers without telling the provider so we lost all the data. But the provider has a back up from November 29th, and i have a back up of all the webpages on my computer. I am really really really sorry to everyone about this. This is the first time I have had a problem. I am working with the provider and we are tightening the security drasticaly on the server. Please bear with us while we get the servers back online

no it's not a bug in phpbb..
it's a bug in php which has been fixed in it's newest version (4.3.10) which was released Dec. 15, 2004..

since you don't know what happend please refrain from talking... there is a bug in the PHPbb boards ok... if you don't beleive me then i'll get the article. That is the worm that got us. please don't argue with me

it says it fixes the very serious security issue..
