Stefan,

The link on the download page says if is WIP #4, build 2057. Is this correct, or is the file on the FTP server actually build 2060 ?

refresh your browser, it does say BUILD 2060 and WIP #5 ;)

the walk much better now and way less camping(if camp at all) , can you do someting about the objectives in the next wip, they have now a mission to search and distroy9_9 .

the not shooting at eachother is better but not quite fixed.

T!m, mind that some bots have an extra delay with their reaction time, this is skill based. You will see some bots shooting blazing fast, and some after a second (perhaps 2).

Example:

reloading -> 0.7 sec delay + 0.7 delay of 'new enemy' will make 1.4 seconds delay.

I will try to make camping a bit more ;) Perhaps i will make it changable ingame. So when bots get killed alot, they will camp more, but those are stupid and simple rules i don't to follow right now.

I will focus on objectives first. after i have managed to get my personal life straight (read rb news).

OK, if just tested the latest WIP - and it works very good.

Now the bots react, if they get shot in the back! But the often don't, if the HEAR something coming from behind. So I stood a moment 3 meters behind a bot and he didn't react - a case for "Mecki Messer", you know ;)

And the bots don't search the bomb, if it is lost. They seem to simply try to kill the other team - and may it be 1T against 4CTs.o_O

And they still don't buy and throw grenades.

And they don't react on my commands or interact through commands.

They now often buy sniper rifles, but they use it a little unfair - sometimes they don't aim and if they see an enemy - BANGBANG, you're dead! From the hip! Of a distance from 50m! While running! And this bot wasn't godlike... worked like a cheater. Others aim the whole time, normally it wouldn't see nothing but it's crosshair. But it sees normally the whole view area.

In CS_ITALY there was a problem with the stairs in the hostage house and on other places like corners - the bots kept hanging there, the view jittering. This should be detected - after 5s jittering move randomly 2 meters or so.

And often the bots run around the hostages but don't take them or not all of them. And sometimes the CT with the hostages heads to the free zone and a few meters before it it suddenly makes a reversal and heads somewhere else,
the hostages not freed and still running behind.

I wasn't able to test everything - you are releasing so fast 8) - but do the Ts still camp ON the bomb, if it is set? And do they set the bomb intelligent?
(hm, this task is surely very difficult to solve - was only a question)

Keep on, Master - it's is constantly getting better!
(and looking at the other bot forums and the threads an posts there -
you and your RealBot seem to become some sort of a POP STAR? :P )

Things I've noticed:

-- The bots don't like to jump, esp. over gaps. But I'm guessing it hasn't been implemented yet.

-- Reaction time feels too fast to be realistic to me. When the bots see the slightest sliver of your arm, they start shooting, even if I personally cannot see them.

-- The bots sometimes like to go after nodes that are right above them without following an alternate path.

-- Experience files are fairly large...but that shouldn't be too much of a problem, since everyone has at least 10gb of hard drive space :)

-- Bots are largely ignorant of what is shooting at them. For example, if you shoot them in the back, they don't react.

-- Bots tend to stick to each other as well. Also, they tend to travel as one big group.


Can someone explain to me how the values in the personality files work? Is the lower the number, the better the bot will be?

Like if I set Hostage to 0 under the [GAME] section, will the bot always attempt to rescue the hostages?

The realbot unloads after map change again. The bots worked after map change in the last 3 builds. Only build 2060 makes the realbot unload after map change.

Just curious to what the commands to show the debugging are...

I've tried 'realbot debug messages' but to no avail...

Happy to see much progress and I can't even imagine what features 2.0 will have...
