Heroes of Annihilated Empires http://images.3dgamers.com/screenima...en_17_1280.jpghttp://images.3dgamers.com/screenima...humb_scr13.jpg In basic principle, its nothing new. Another game that combines RTS/RPG, but this one so far seems to have fainally done it right. I especially like the part how it lets you use either a hero, build a base/army, or both. I love the idea of combining those two genres, but hate having to babysit both a base an army and micromanage a hero. They've got a open public beta out, free of course, but then most companies would charge $65 to play their beta. Edito: After fininishing it (just one level), I can honestly say its the best RTS I've played in a long time. It combines all the things that I like in an RTS: Massive armies, very little individual micromanagement, an infinite resource model (trees/gold mines etc are unlimited). I never liked having hero chacters before this, but this game implements them quite well since the main army requires little micromanagement. Even the training buildings can be set to produce units indefinetly, extremely handy. It runs just a tad choppy, and the pathfinding is bad, but aside from that its a fairly polished beta. |
