Running cs 1.5 I get the error "NUM_FOR_EDICT : bad pointer" and cs closes when I try to plant the bomb at a bomb site on de_dust. I havent tried any other de map bomb planting.

Stefan, the new WIP is great. I really like it's ability to learn maps just by "watching" you, and how smart the bots act under different conditions (ie. Planted Bombs).

Im not trying to make you feel bad or anything by the following list of things that could use some work, the WIP is really awesome already, but if you perfect the following list... it will be the best bot ever made.

1. Bots Camp in the Strangest areas.
2. They avoid ladders at all costs.
3. They never crouch to get under obstacles: (ie. The hole in the wall by the monitors in assault)
4. They take the same routes over and over no matter how many times you "teach" them to go other ways.
5. They never use vent systems.
6. They can not operate switchs.
7. They are never deffensive. (Dont stay inside on assault if T, or stay at bombsites on Dust if CT)
8. Bots dont walk... ever.
9. Defusal kits!
10. Hearing.

You probably already know of these limitations, but i thought I would help. Keep up the awesome work.

I have a dedicated server 1.6 anf i have metamod working! i have installed AI to the correct and downloaded the the new WIP and copied it to the correct dir. in my consol i type the commands for metamod and i get that realbot is running and is the correct version. None of my commands work! i can't add any bots! another ? is if i'm running a dedicated server can the bots learn from anothe person on a diff pc?

The command to add realbots to your server is realbot add. As for if they'll learn from a player on a different pc, yes they will learn from any player that plays on your server. they can also learn from other bots. I used IVPbot to train realbot.

The bots need to be more aware of obsticales in there way. Also need to stop running back words and some one needs to add a defuser kit to the buychart.ini because they don't buy any defuser kits. Also they need to come when some human needs back up. Also need to stop always going the shortest way to a bomb site or spawn. And need to be more random when it comes to what bomb site they pick.

I just installed Realbot a couple of hours ago. It's running on our dedicated public CS 1.6 server.

Here are my suggestions (in this order).

1. Change/Fix the internet mode. Bots should leave when human players enter and take their spot. Just how plbot was. For example, when 1 human player enters the server, 1 bot leaves until all the spots the bots are using are taken up by humans. That's my 2 cents.

I would really like the internet mode changed/fixed so that it works the way plbot used to work. Then it would be even better for those that want to attract players to their servers like me.

There are some AMX plugins available which provide this feature (amongst others). See the "wiki" for it, especially the How-To: using RealBot WIP.

When I run my cs 1.6 server with realbot & internet mode on, the bots leave as a human joins. Never had a problem with that.

I forgot to post specs/configs on my Realbot set up. Maybe I'm missing something that's why the internet mode doesn't work?

Using AMX Mod 0.9.7 (with 25 plugins)
Using HLguard 1.52 beta 2

Using WIP #9 (Realbot v3005)
Using Realbot metamod version...also tried the original metamod from metamod.org

In bot.cfg I added the following commands/settings:

realbot csversion 1
realbot internet 1
realbot internet_interval 10 35
realbot max 6
realbot roundlimit 5 10
realbot server broadcast version 1
realbot server broadcast kills 2
realbot server broadcast deaths 2
realbot setrandom 5 7
realbot skill -1
realbot walkwithknife 20

The Realbot directory is in the same level as the cstrike directory (both of them below HLserver directory).

The bots work fine. They are able to learn the map after several rounds (although they sometimes show weird behaviors such as just running back and forth in the same area or just crouching in an open area).

The main thing I would like to have fixed as I said in my last post above is the internet mode where bots should leave as soon as humans join the server.
