Re: Little advertising
lol. Well the demo you downloaded is probably the least-playable. Did you try the one at http://arrakis.dune2k.com ? (version 0.92). Its a lot more playable, but has no intro.
Also, the version (demo) you saw (with intro) is even not the one i am talking about. I am completely rewriting it and its looking very nice so far. And its very nostalgic. No new stuff, just nicer gfx, here and there a bit more fancy gfx and sound (MT32 sound blaster recorded music as MP3) etc. I just want to relive the dune2 experience, but then in a more modern/nicer looking way ;) |
Re: Little advertising
Heh yeah I just tried that 'BENE VERSION' thing... :)
With 0.92 the mouse doesn't work :P /me reads ini file... /me remembers the old days when modding C&C Series |
Re: Little advertising
yeah, i love those days ;)
ini files are cool. It also makes 'balancing the game' a lot easier edit: perhaps mous edoes not work because you use WINE? ;) eventually i hope to compile it for Linux and Mac as well ;) |

What are you using for graphics/input/sound? DirectX? Or dos interrupts? :P If you use something like OpenGL for graphics porting shouldn't be too hard. |
Re: Little advertising
i use a library: Allegro. Which supports Windows, Dos, Mac, Linux, etc.
I don't know if it will compile straight away on a linux machine, but if someone wants to help me with it when the time is there, i'd be glad ;) Ow also beta-testers are needed. :) |
