Hi all,

I must first say Wellcome to markus_heiden the second developer of E[POD]bot.
We will work together for better results.
Now I need by the council members vote for markus_heiden to make him a moderator for the E[POD]bot forum.

Well...if you trust him enough I guess it would be OK to let him be a mod on your forum...

Hmm now I think of it...a developer doesn't need to be a mod per se, maybe he can prove himself first for a little while? :)

Well he made a very good things to EPB. Full linux support and updated metamod headers to 1.18.
Here the correct ChangeLog from Markus:

- Used hlsdk 2.3-p2 headers from metamod.
- Created directory structure like hlsdk in epb.
- Used original metamod headers.
- Fixed bot.h: "import <util.h>" changed to "import <sdk_util.h>"
- Fixed bot.h: include "import <values.h>" for linux and "import <float.h>" for windows
- Fixed dll.cpp: removed problematic but unused declaration: "clientdata_s cd;" commented out
- Reworked Makefile
- Adapted visual studio project files.

The new version will be published with some more AI fixes by me. ;)

Fine with me, if you trust him... :)

Usually when I make a decision like this I first have to know the person well enough to say yes or no. I'll have to abstain as I do not know markus_heiden well enough at this point in time.

Hi folks,

I am Markus Heiden from Hamburg / Germany. I am 32 years old, an "Informatik" (computer science) student at the university of hamburg and work for a java software development company. I am an experienced programmer (~20 years), but primarily in java and less in c/c++.

Currently I am active in the leJOS development (lejos.sourceforge.net) too. Since this year I am a member of a fun cs clan (www.mosleyland.de (http://www.mosleyland.de)) which plays the wc3ft mod. Because I am setting up the servers for that clan I searched a bot for cs to get more action on our servers. After searching a lot, I found out that podbot must be the bot of choice for cs and I am glad to see that the development is not dead. But because it seemed that there was no current linux version (of epb) I tried to build one of the sources. During this I updated epb to the newest metamod api.

For the future I would like to refactor epb to be more oo to get new functionality easier to develop. My primary focus lies on getting a stable linux version of epb and to extend my c/c++/unix knowledge.

The poll still needs council member votes.

I'll vote yes if no one objects, but that still won't be enough at this point in time.

So botmeister, we count your vote as "yes" ? You forgot to set it.

If we can, then we'll have enough council member votes to validate the poll.

BUMP!!!
One more council member vote is needed.

Can You guys just release some result of work made by markus_heiden (I mean new epodbot release with his fixes) - then the people here will see the result of his work - it will be more easy for them to decide to make him a mod (the same way THE_STORM has been moded : first - release - then Councils made him as a mod).

OK I will add some more improvment for the famas and galil usage and this weekend EPBv5.1 will be released. ;)

Heyyo,

Well, I have checked over the bot's developpment (I feel soo outta the loop cause I'm busy as hell, lol), but from what he says he seems to be a good candidate. THE_STORM trusts him, so do I. I vote yes. :)

Thanks for your trust in me.

I hope I will be a good developer / mod :-)

I am currently refactoring some parts of the code which will definitivly not make it into the 5.1 release. The work I want to do (refactoring / bugfixes) is more behind the scenes instead of implementing lots of new features. When I am ready with refactoring / understanding the code fully (which will take some time), I will maybe add / improve some features.
