My cousin just bought HL2, but even though he should meet all the requirements, he can't play HL2 or source. He probably needs a better gfx card. But he also bought it, because he thought you could play the normal CS 1.6 through steam..
is this possible??!
He registred legally on steam with the HL2 serial key, but he says he can't download original CS, unless he pays for it....
Please help, how can he play cs?

from what Valve said buying HL2 in Steam will also buy HL1 and all MODs

Buying HL2 in steam?
He bought HL2 in a gaming shop. Should he still be able?

well the problem could be that it may have been a striped copy meaning he only got that one game, and if you buy the bronze package thru steam you don't get anymods except the free ones

yes, that's why I went for the silver one, because of the HL1:Source and all the free mods... though I already had them for the most, but I wanted to see what HL1 on Source would give :)
If you get HL2 Bronze through Steam, you aren't allowed to download CS 1.6 I think (unless you had it already).

cs1.6 gcf file (3~~mb) can be downloaded even you dont have STEAM , that is what I do :)
Heyyo,
Err... that's illegal though rifleman...
Yeah, you need either:
- Buy HL1 on steam
- Buy HL2 Silver or Gold Package
- Buy HL2 Collectors edition in stores
So steam's bronze, and normal retail doesn't have the HL1 package...
